What are the Klaatu Albums? I tried to google, but just talks about a musical duo from the 70's.

It was a joke. Klaatu was a Canadian band that released an album when the Beatles broke up. Nothing on the album identified the band members whatsoever (credits, photos, etc) and they sounded just similarly enough to the Beatles that desperate Beatles' fans convinced themselves that it was a secret project by the Beatles. A music writer pretty much stoked the conspiracy theory fires hard and Klaatu mania became widespread, even though the actual band members of Klaatu repeatedly told people they weren't the Beatles. Part of the rumor mill was that Paul McCartney allegedly said "Remember Klaatu" before the Beatles broke up as well as Ringo appearing in Klaatu's costume in his album Goodnight, Vienna. The songs "Calling all Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" and "Sub-Rosa Subway" seem to be the songs that convinced people that Klaatu was secretly the Beatles the most.

The rumor persisted basically until another music writer wrote an article putting the rumor starter on blast and basically saying that anyone that thinks this sounds like the Beatles is incredibly deaf.

There will be no Eagles top 10 from me in honor of Glenn Frey, who died yesterday. The Eagles were just watered down, generic sounding, less talented, homeless man's version of Steely Dan.

well ****, Maurice White, the founder of Earth, Wind and Fire (my #6 favorite band) died today.

Fats Top 10 EWF Songs - this is going to be tough (probably not fair to all the slower songs, but I'm not in a slow song mood today)

1. Caribou - at the very least listen to the post breakdown part from 1:45 on, love it.

2. Fair But So Uncool - funkalicious

3. Runnin' - Brazilian magic

4. September - everyone's favorite party song

5. Fantasy - the king of falsetto

6. Evil

7. Sing A Song - its impossible not to smile listening to this song and the next one

8. Happy Feeling

9. Let's Groove - everyone's 2nd favorite party song, with super 80s cheesiness

10. Feelin' Blue

HM: to the slower songs like Reasons, Devotion, Make It With You, Keep Your Head To The Sky... and a shout out to their remake of the Beatles song Got To Get You Into My Life.

Hadn't heard about these news. The post will serve as a place from which I can find out about EWF songs that I don't know.

Everyone probably knows Boogie Wonderland but I would like to drop this one by as well:

Fats 10 Favorite Talking Heads Songs (in honor of Spencer Hawes pregame music)

1. This Must Be The Place

2. Genius Of Love - this one is cheating a bit. Technically this song is by a band called Tom Tom Club, which was a side project band by the members of Talking Heads.

3. Psycho Killer - pretty cool they opened a Sunny episode last year with this song

4. Big Country - the first of many songs from More Songs About Buildings And Food, my favorite TH album.

5. Stay Hungry - I love the instrumental funk/jam that starts at 1:08

6. Crosseyed and Painless - I like it better as a Phish cover however.

7. Found A Job

8. The Good Thing

9. Once In A LifeTime - the big hit

10. Burning Down The House - fun Trivia, what 80s movie starts with an opening scene featuring this song?

Bonus

Cities (Talking Heads Cover, by Phish - I prefer the Phish version on this song as well)

@Fatlever - dude thanks for sharing all those Earth Wind & Fire tracks. Love the little I've heard by that group, and stoked to discover more.

Currently, I'm listening to Board of Canada's Geodaddi album.

they are definitely an amazing band, very unique sound, they are in my top 20 All-Time bands for sure. Some of the David Byrne solo stuff is also really good.

I love this song by Byrne

Does anyone listen to Arcade Fire? My mind was blown this weekend when I found out their lead singer, Win Butler, won the all-star celebrity game MVP. I would not have guessed in a million years that guy could ball at all.

Yeah man I dig some Arcade Fire. I knew their lead singer was really tall from seeing them perform on a late night show but had no idea he balled.
