Demarcus Cousins Trade Ideas Thread

Post#1 » by OrlChamps2030 » Tue Jan 19, 2016 12:36 am

IMO any package starts with Vucevic and one of Fournier/Harris/maybe Oladipo + a draft pick. Do we need to give up two of those guys? How much is too much? I'd prefer not to part ways with Gordon/Hezonja/ and while Payton isn't untouchable I'd like to keep him as well.

Do the Kings have any bad contracts they want to dump?

Anyone have any good three team proposals?

Lets get some ideas going.

The thing is I would love to get him but I don't see them doing it if one of Oladipo/Gordon/Hezonja isn't involved.

No way I'm packaging Gordon and I love Oladipo and Hezonja, just think Oladipo fits less between those two.

They'd probably want like Vuc + Oladipo + pick + something? I'd rather give Fournier or Harris though.

I would definitely trade Evan + Vooch + pick, Tobias + Vooch + pick.

We'd be losing depth, but you gotta pay to get a star in this league, and we are desperate for one. I don't see them doing it without one of Vic/ Gordon/ Hezonja, and I don't want to get rid of them so gotta give them something they can't refuse.

Are we still on this? Do we not remember the last big man soap opera? Let's not panic and ruin what we have for a insubordinate cancer player. Also, he DMC has problems with Karl, what the hell do you think is going to happen when he bumps head with Skiles? You guys are just asking for the Magic to be the soap opera team of the NBA again.

I thought of a similar trade. My issue is.. if the Kings are trading their star player you have to assume: they are trying to get better or they are trying to blow it up. The package you proposed I would not consider a "blow it up" package and it won't make them better either since they would basically become the Sacramento Magic. A 3-team deal could be the way to go IMO.

What about something based around:
Vuc to Indy
Myles Turner, Oladipo, Magic 1st round pick to Sacramento
DMC, Stuckey to Orlando

I'd like to keep Oladipo but I'm not sure the deal gets done without him. Some filler would have to be added to make sure the $$$ adds up.

Yeah I remember the last big man soap opera... Dwight + Shaq are the only times this team has ever been successful and relevant. Say what you want, but I'll take the Dwight era over the Heart and Hustle/T-Mac era any day of the week. Maybe a competent front office will keep our star happy this time around.

DMC probems with Skiles..? Skiles has gotten run out of town everywhere hes been. You get your star player and make it work. There are a lot more Skiles-caliber coaches than there are Cousins-caliber big men.

I would have no problem with firing Skiles 8-)

Did Cousins request a trade or something? Because that is the only way the Kings trade him this season...

We definitely need to do something. I was all against this but I have soured on Vuc. If the jumper isn't falling he disappears.

He's just too much of a sulking, whining, tantrum throwing baby to me. I love his talent though. I just wouldn't trust him.

wasnt Malone a hard ass? and DMC got along with him. Karl is creating his own problems, i wouldnt attribute DMC having issues with him as a larger picture. and as people have mentioned, playing for that front office for 5 years would make you crazy too

He's the best player that's somewhat rumored to be available at some points in the year. He's locked up on a long term deal. He'd give us interior defense and a go to guy that gets to the line.

I say do what it takes, keep Payton, Mario, and AG.

100% agree. Although I don't want to trade 'Dipo, i'd be willing to for a player of his caliber.

Aren't we in the stage where we only bring in high character guys? To me I see Cousins being a long shot.

The Magic have always targeted high character guys (Gilbert Arenas was the exception). I don't think Demarcus Cousins is worth the trouble. He's flanked by Rondo and Rudy Gay and still probably isn't a playoff team. It would be similar here. I do agree that the Magic may need to look into some deals. This collapse is reaching catastrophic levels. This roster as constructed has probably peaked. They're not a playoff roster.

high talent high baggage, let's not kid ourselves he is who he is he's not all of a sudden just going to change at the core. Take the good with the bad i guess and there is a lot of good. DMC is longer than a long shot to me, most likely won't happen just too much would need to go right and it rarely ever does. Keep in mind though, some of you don't like that Vuc shoots a lot of jumpers well....it's not so different with DMC he's takes a lot of jumpers a game plus he's floating around the 3pt line this season for whatever reason. If we can do it without gutting the roster why not?

Vucevic + one of Fournier, Harris, Oladipo, Gordon, and Hezonja (order of preference) + 2016 first round pick is about where I'd go.

IMO Is Oladipo is untouchable. I wouldn't want to part ways with Hezonja or AG. Everyone else is fair game...

Would like to see what AG looks like in the starting lineup with Victor back in there before making this type of deal. The last thing I want us to be is a treadmill team that never has a shot at playing for a championship. Besides I do not see the Kings trading Cousins unless he demands to be traded. They actually do have a shot at the 8th seed in the West this season.
