No matter your strategy in re: offensive rebounding, you still may have a roster of players who don't play good transition D. The correlation alone can't account for that. I can't see how historical data would either.

For that matter, a team can be bad at offensive rebounding without having decided to ignore the offensive glass. They may be going for offensive boards but not getting them! And this too would show up in low transition D figures.

What you'd need would be *experimental* data -- get teams to change strategies for a while, and then look at the results.

LOL. No.

You're not getting Oubre for a poo poo platter.

Lou Williams is a serviceable one-dimensional gunner off the bench, but he's not as good as Nene and the Wizards aren't in need of another guard. Bass and Kelly are nothing more than filler.

Bass is no better then Humpries. Lou is a chucker, and you must be quite the moron to think we have no bench. Sessions, Temple(eventually), oubre, Nene and Hump are a fine bench. Add in Alan Anderson and the bench gets even better. Take your BS justification else where. Oh and we have a one dimensional gunner, his name is Gary Neal. We don't need the **** from a **** team.

Some what belatedly, here is a good article from Zach Lowe on the disappearance of the Offensive Rebound. (not sure if someone already posted this):

Adrian Payne would be gettable from minni. He is a strong rebounder and has range to the 3 point line. Would be happy for a Humphries or Blair swap.

While Payne is likely available I don't see the Wolves having any interest in Humphries. I also can't see Minnesota dumping Payne for nothing (Blair) since his contract is pretty cheap and he still has upside.

The same can be said for Blair. Out of Payne or Blair I'd rather have Payne.

Well the proposed trade was ridiculous, obviously. But, after laughing him away once, why bother descending to his level of insulting stupidity. Just tell him where the caps key is on the keyboard, explain how spell check works, and let him go.

"mediocracy" -- ??? :)

Our current roster and overall woe brings out the worst and me PIF >:0

But you're right, I should be less abrasive. Just can't deal with clearly biased trade proposals >.>

I don't see why. They have some young talent, some high picks coming, an absolute ton of cap room, and one of the biggest markets/budgets in the sports business.

Then again... we've had some hard years here recently, haven't we? Quite a few hard years.

I'm don't know whether either of these guys is among the league's worst players, but at least Blair has had a history of success in the NBA. And, he has an actual role.

In short, you're wrong.

I'm not sure how wanting the younger player with more upside is wrong for a rebuilding team. Saying that Blair was once a useful player has little to do with his current value. Could Blair return to usefulness, it's possible, but when the bet is a long shot either way I'll go with the option that is more oriented to the future instead of the past.
