Re: Trade Deadline Countdown....What will we do? What should we do?
I dont think talking about Love a in any way a realistic option.
a.) The cavs gave up a the first pick in a draft to get him. They want to win now. This talk about adding pieces that have under performed here and draft picks just sets the Cavs back a few years.
b.) With that being said, the cavs would want pieces that would help them now. Guys like Warren/Len who have shown they can contribute.....guys that the suns would be reluctant to trade. The Cavs and Love are in a completely different position than a team like the Kings and Cousins. Where as the Kings would be looking towards the future in a trade, the Cavs are looking at NOW....something we cant/shouldnt provide.
I had posted a trade in the trade forum that i think is decent:
Suns trade:
Chandler/Morris/Tucker
Suns get:
Noah/Mozgov/Gibson/McDermott or worse of Kings/Bulls 2016 First
Cavs trade:
Mozgov
Cavs get:
Morris
Bulls trade:
Noah/McDermott or worse of Kings/Bulls 2016 First
Bulls get:
Chandler/Tucker
Suns clear contracts that dont fit in with the tank. Both Noah/Mozgov are expiring and Gibson expires next season....so he becomes a nice trade chip. Adding either a late pick/McDermott helps with the youth.
Len/Mozgov
Gibson/Tele/Leuer
Warren/Weems or McDermott
Booker/Goodwin
Knight/Price
Cavs get some help at the PF. With Varajo coming back (hopefully healthy), Mozgov would become expendable. Morris gives them a quality PF making a relatively low amount of money for the remainder of his contract.
Bulls get a replacement for Noah, who will be out for almost the rest of the year. Tucker also gives them that veteran presence at the SF who has show that he can go toe to toe with Lebron on the defensive end.

Fans paid tickets to see competitive basketball this year and the Suns have not come through on their side.
Really? Gortat? Scola?Dudley? We weren't there, we don't know if any trades were available to make.
I doubt if much arm twisting was going on when we gifted theGORTAT to Wash.
This path to this current Sh*tSh*w has been a muddy one.
And now, by default as much as anything, the Tankers have their way.
The question wasn't whether the other team was willing or was tricked, Letsgo was saying that McD was proven to wait too long on deals. He had many deals that went down before the season started, like the three I mentioned.
I don't know if they have their way, because many of them still seem to be b*tching all the time. Maybe they're confused?

That is pretty unbelievable....I was making am mockery earlier about him saying "We are still only 7 games back and BK scored 18..." but wow.
I just read the link...and this kind of goes along with my response to letgso about trading guys....I think people put more stuff on the table at the deadline or in July...Q: He has a moveable contract. To me, that would seem an inviting target for other teams if you were looking to build moving forward.
McDonough: “It could be. If you look at the NBA in general, the trades usually come in waves or in stages. There are a lot of moves early in the summer, July. Usually it dies down, and usually, there aren’t a lot of moves between July and the trade deadline. Closer to the deadline, talks heat up again, and there is a flurry of activity. I think that’s what we’re expecting. Obviously we are not being passive. We’re looking at all our options and prioritize what we want to do but it obviously takes two teams to make a deal, and usually those deals get completed in the days or even hours leading up to the trade deadline.”
I'm not sure what people expect him to say. "Hey, we royally suck, and some of good young pieces play like crap on any given night. I would be willing to trade everyone at this point, because no one seems to be extra special, night in and night out." You have to continue to compete and have a goal of competing or everything falls apart.

I am certain that people don't expect Mcd to say like that. If he thniks this is the besy way to say, please be quiet and just keep silence.

Re: Trade Deadline Countdown....What will we do? What should we do?
Would the Cavs do:
Kieff
Tucker
Weems
CLE pick
for
Love
Mozgov
I'd then try and flip Moz to a team needing a veteran rim protector, try for a young guy like Meyers Leonard or see if Indy want him for Jordan Hill.

Flip them both, Love has no value to us this year and won't help us contend by the time the youngins are ready. Which contending team has lotto picks to offer?
Boston with BKN picks?
Chicago with the Sac pick?

I think Cleveland is more likely to trade Irving this summer then Love. If that happens McD needs be on point and offer bledsoe and knight package. Lebron will never win a championship with them and I think he knows that. I see them getting better offers then we can offer but Booker and Irving would be fun to watch.

Knight and Chandler are the only 2 I could see getting us something good (better than a fringe starter or late 1st).
Rest are either not tradable (you would hope) or just scraps for scraps.

Theoretically Kevin Durant could shock everyone and sign with the Suns in the offseason too, right McDonough?
Seriously, this season is an outstanding challenge for us like a fans. McDonough ignores player's feelings and the flow of the situation, it's just amazing, he is really bad at that.

Re: Trade Deadline Countdown....What will we do? What should we do?
Pacers might want Chandler or Kieff/Tucker, they've got some decent expirings and some young players on cheap deals too.
I like that Young, he's going to be George Hill 2.0 you can see it now.

Re: Trade Deadline Countdown....What will we do? What should we do?
As crappy as we've been I guess if we just had that key piece at the 4 spot we could look like a legitimate playoff team.
Kieff/Tucker/Knight Cleveland 1st for Love/Mozgov works for me.
I'd rather scrap our pieces though and build fresh, but if an opportunity like that presented itself I think everyone would do it (except Cleveland of course).

Bledsoe, Booker, Warren, and maybe just maybe Len should be untouchable IMO. Trade the rest if not some for players that can compliment those 4 guys ability.

I like Myles Turner, and think maybe the Pacers would consider Kieff/Archie + Cleveland's pick for Turner/Budinger

^Yeah I love Turner too but Bird is no slouch, he knows the way the league's going and Turner's the ideal stretch 4/5 and he's already an elite shot-blocker, no chance they take that.
Might be able to get Hill or Budinger, and Young - but more likely a couple of 2nds.

Only Booker is untouchable IMO. Bled's value will be shot and probably won't be moved coming off his third ACL injury. He'll have to prove that he can return to form and he's only entering his prime at 26 and I don't see him playing beyond 30 with his reckless overliance on athleticism. If you can package Warren along with another asset to get a better young wing (if Hayward or someone of that caliber becomes available) I'd do it. Len is nothing special and on the verge of being a lost cause but we should hold on to him through his rookie deal and we already picked up his 4th year option. He's worth more to us if he can reduce his foul rate and figure it out to a become a serviceable starting center who averages near a double double

Turner looked great.
He was blocking shots, hitting jumpers, and was very active.
Not many guys with his skillset around.
I'd pull the trigger on that trade in a heartbeat.
Highly doubt Indiana gives him away though.
