miscommunication between Kemba and Marvin, it has happened a lot lately, particularly at the crucial moments... the Trey Burke's three was a miscommunication between Kemba and Nic... this team needs a vocal defensive enforcer l, to direct the assignmens, ideally from a big, be it Zeller or Marvin since they should see the floor better than guards...

As mentioned by Collins the other night, the Hornets are near last in the league in corner 3s taken and made. Lets dig deeper into that situation.

On defense, it feels like we completely ignore the shot, leaving teams wide open from the corners. Lets see what the stats say...

We are 15th in the league in giving up corner 3s at 262, way more than we attempt ourselves. We are 16th in the league in % given up at 38% (Spurs amazingly holding teams to 30% on corner 3s; 76ers giving up 43%).

We are 22nd in total 3pt % allowed on defense at 36%.

In the month of January we have six guys shooting above 80% from the free throw line. If you round Marv up to 90% from 89.3%, we have five guys shooting 90% or better from the free throw line.

Kemba has been especially solid - shooting 90.8% on over 5 attempts per game.

To revisit this discussion of our bigs being the reason we can't defend the perimeter, in the month of December we had a top 10 team in defending the perimeter by 3PT% while also being among the best teams in the league at limiting shots close to the basket and in holding those shots to a low FG%.

The same is true for the month of November, where we held teams to only 27.9% from three (3rd best in that month).

I continue to believe that the team's problem is not our bigs, but our wing player's inability to execute their roles in our schemes (whether due to injury or lack of experience).
