Wright or Wroten?

Post#1 » by Hoops23 » Fri Jan 22, 2016 6:37 am

from the Herald
### The Heat made a due-diligence check-in recently on free agent 6-6 combo guard Tony Wroten, who was cut by Philadelphia Dec. 24, but hadn’t made an offer as of Thursday morning. He has averaged 11.1 points in four seasons, including 16.9 last season. He's probably the best unsigned perimeter player available at the moment.

Miami could use another veteran perimeter player, considering injuries to Dwyane Wade, Goran Dragic, Luol Deng and Beno Udrih --- all of whom are day to day at this point.

### Miami also made a similar call on ex-Heat forward Dorell Wright, who is playing in China but will become available to NBA teams in mid-February. But several other teams have shown more interest. Wright, a skilled three-point shooter, was interested in the Heat last summer but Miami never made an offer.
I believe no one should be waive until the deadline coz they might be use as filler in a trade and tax relief. Heat should apply for exception to have a roster of 16 players...

I think Dorell is the better choice because he is familiar with the team.

I agree, Miami should ask the league to exceed the 15 man roster instead of waiving players.

If the Heat use the injured players hardship (or whatever it's called), they would have to waive somebody whenever one of their injured players come back.

Anyways, it might be a moot point, since there's a decent chance a couple of guys are returning tomorrow night.

I expect Udrih to be back. I hope he doesn't aggravate his injury.

In my opinion, both of these proposed "solutions" are terrible ideas. To fix the problem we have we need to get rid of one of our front court players. My choice would be Andersen, because he never plays, and I think Stokes has potential. We should use the roster space for 10 day dleague contracts or a potential buyout later on.

Wroten is good but he can NOT shoot ...what are they thinking, he is not who we need, we need 3pt snipers to space the floor, don't be so stuborn.

So far our best available options are D.Wright and O.Johnson

A Kyle Korver/Jason Kapono type of player would do wonders for this team

Yup, both are not the answer.

Worten at least interest me because of his age and upside, he's a bad fit right now but could become a really good player down the road IMO.

Wright is a better fit but just not a good player overall. So don't need him.

I like Orlando Johnson. Let's sign him to a 10-day and check him out.

adding more players wont fix out lack of coaching, preparation, development and basic offensive awareness. Wroten cant shoot well andwould be redundant to Jrich, he is as much a project as he is. Writght would be a defensive laibility so basically u are getting beasley light, very light. I swear we keep adding the same players we say we hate.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

From a fan side, I agree with you about Anderson.. But I believe management will 1st try to unload him in a trade that will lessen their tax burden.
