It's been a month since the last day that wasn't either a snowstorm or something around -15 per Celsius.

Damn it. Life's tough in Latvia as it is. Why couldn't have we been Croatia or something!?

Still not sure if she is just needing attention from any guy or if she specifically wants me in her life. She's hard to read and honestly we are both slammed. I literally leave my condo all day every day for work, internship and classes online. I'm a full time grad student, full time intern and part time worker. I also manage my property. She is a full time worker, part time grad student and full time parent with no help from the guy. It's not happening for at least a few months. You guys will have to wait unless she finds someone better than me in the interim. I doubt that very much.

How widespread is the boar population in Borneo?

They're so bad here in the Southeastern US that many places have named them a nuisance animal and declared open season. I've seen some pretty sweet runs lately where guys will bag as many as 30 of them if they get lucky.

I don't know how willing I'd be to spear hunt them, but it sounds like a lot of fun if you have a brave group and smart dogs. We mostly use ARs or bigger caliber pistols if we're tree hunting or stalking. What's the biggest one you've bagged?

It's maybe worst here, because not every hunting trip will be succesful. You'll be lucky if you can get 1 or 2 of them in one trip and we usually stopped hunting when we got 2 boars, because if more than 2 then we couldn't brought all the boars home, because that will be too heavy and we hunt by foot thru the rainforest.

We are using spears, because the regulation for firearms is strict here. We can't afford to buy firearm and the owner license, it's too expensive and if you get caught carrying a firearm without owner license then you be in jail

My friends are hunter and doing it since they were young. Hunting is their job to live their life, so their bravery is unquestionable. I rarely joined them, because i'm not a hunter and i'm not as brave as them, haha. The biggest one we got when i joined them was around 100 kgs, not as big as the boars in US, I think.

What kind of spears and dogs do y'all use?

That's about the same average weight of Borneo boars. I thought it was different because of the different climate.

We use common boar spears, the spearhead length is about 40 centimeters. We usually only brought the spearhead and made the shaft from the wood in rainforest as soon as we saw the sign of boar's existence near us. It's not easy to bring a long spears when you walk thru the rain forest.

We called the dogs "asu lewu" or in english (maybe) village dogs. They are small but fast and smart. They are good at tracking the boars, they also good when work in a group.

How many hours it takes for a hunting trip in US?

It really depends on how you're hunting. If you're in a blind, it's usually good to be ready around dawn so you can catch them when they start moving for the day. So you can be out there in a tree for 6-8 hours.

If you're stalking, during the day is best so you have visibility through the brush. You can just head out in the morning and walk however long/far you want

Mt Mitchell (in mountains of NC) got 66 inches of snow this weekend, including 41 inches on Saturday alone. Amazing.
