Yep I just don't see the need for the Rams to go there if they get the Chargers. They have been w/out a team for like 20 years right, and all of a sudden they need 2 ? I would feel bad for Rams fans if they weren't Cards fans :D

The way I read about the deal, without the Rams, there wouldn't be anything for the Chargers to move to in Los Angeles. The owner has privately financed the entire project with himself and investors and he is willing for a second team to share the building and rent to them which is something that the Raiders refused to do when Al Davis was planning the same thing.

Al Davis was a snake as far as I was concerned and I'm not sure when the Chargers left Los Angeles, so it's a natural fit to see both of them come back. I was a bit surprised as to how excited I am to see them return. Inglewood, Ca is primarily a poverty stricken town south of Los Angeles with a lot of crime and gangs, so this is going to be a huge boost for the town and will help the better neighborhoods working so hard to be bring the problems under control. Property values will go up and income will come into the town for upgrades. It is going to be a nice project for Los Angeles. My condolences, however to all of the residents and fans of St Louis. It's a tough break for them

The inglewood you're describing was in the 80's and early 90s. There are many areas that are now considered middle class. The area has gotten better. My biggest worry is that they gentrify the area.

I use to do audits in Inglewood and in south central Los Angeles in the 90's right after the Rodney King riots. I never had a problem one time. One family even as me if I had jumper cables to start their car with which I had and did. I also audited the cemetery over there one year. I don't like big cities, but Inglewood is a nice town as far as it goes.

I hope they stay. They belong in Oakland. Rabid fan base.

They belong in Oakland, but given how badass they were in the 80s in LA, I'd be okay if they moved there, which they won't, so the point is moot.

That would be nice to see the Chargers stay in San Diego. Refreshing to read this in Peter King's MMQB

“I dissented because I felt the NFL would be best served by having less realignment. Moving one team would be less disruptive to our fan base. And, also, having just one team in Los Angeles would give the league the best chance to be successful.”
—Kansas City owner Clark Hunt, to me, for a story on why the owners chose the Rams to move to Los Angeles instead of the Chargers and Raiders moving to a stadium in Carson, Calif.
Hunt believes what I do: that the NFL should not go to L.A. with two teams now. The league and Rams owner Stan Kroenke should make the 283-acre Inglewood site a dream location for a single team, and make that team a part of the fabric of Los Angeles, before trying to add a franchise that the locals don’t care much about.

I don't have a problem with the Rams coming back to L.A., But the Raiders need to stay in Oakland, and the Chargers need to stay in San Diego. We can put another team in St. Louis again when they expand. I'm thinking it may be Toronto down the road. Way too much time zone difference, especially with west coast teams, to have a team in Europe.

A team in europe doesn't work out well. Maybe the NFL could make a european league or something along those lines.

I can't believe NFL, with over 9 billion in annual revenue, can't help out 2 original AFL teams with a new stadium. Unbelievable.

Why pay for it yourself? When you can get others to pay for it, right!? Totally unethical. But, with that much money and power they are able to get away with a lot. Sad state of affairs. That goes for all the other sports leagues as well.

I guess they are thinking short term. Find it hard to believe that 2 state of the art stadiums for the Chargers and Raiders wouldn't MORE than pay off for itself down the road.

Oh absolutely. But if they have the choice of paying for the stadiums themselves, or holding cities hostage by getting tax payers to pay up. They will ultimately choose to use the threat of relocation, every time. Because in most cases it works. And they know this. Totally Sucks.

Wait...I'm confused? How exactly would the rest of the "nation feel good about itself", if say the Rams in LA won a SB. Sure, it would be great for Rams fans & Socal. It is great that the Rams are back in L.A., but transform America?

I agree that the most logical thing for the Raiders would be to partner with the Niners in Santa Clara for the time being. I Doubt it happens with Mark Davis as the owner. The Chargers will end up in L.A. also, which is a shame. San Diego is a great town & should keep the team.

I was going to chime in with my opinion, but you covered everything exactly to what I was thinking.
