Re: Nets are interviewing.....
An old time coach? Thibs and blatt's approach to basketball is light years ahead of Mark Jackson's and Thibs had players busting their tails for him. Blatt got tossed into a toxic situation because he signed up to coach a rebuilding team, not have to deal with a piece of garbage like Lebron.
There's evidence of two Golden State players sending shots at Jackson. There's a reason why the man isn't getting offers to coach in the NBA again.
And no, its not all because of Curry, Golden State stopped playing slow paced, iso/post up basketball and started moving the ball. Next to the Spurs they play excellent team basketball. How many shots is Curry assisted on under Kerr and under Jackson? I'll wager the number is a lot higher under Kerr.

Thibs got a team of Nate Robinson, Vladimir Radmanovic, Marquis Teague, Richard Hamilton, Marco Belinelli Loul Deng, Nazr Mohammed, Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah to finish with 45 wins, 6th in defense and of course, winning a 1st round series without home court advantage.
The following season DJ Augustin replaces Nate Robinson, Mike Dunleavy replaces Marco Belineli, add in Jimmer Ferdette, Lou Amundson and Chicago finishes 2nd in defense with 48 wins.
Lionel Hollins has never ever been that good at maximizing effort and consistently getting the most out of everyone down to the 15th man. Thibs is just an incredible defensive coach.

He was an MVP candidate for averaging 13/11/5 but that was in 2013-14. He wasn't that good in 2012 and the Bulls still managed to win nearly 50 games with a Top 10 defense.

Can't believe you guys are talking about Mark Jackson as a HC choice. What's wrong with some of you?

lol done arguing this.
You guys hate Mark Jackson, I get it. Not worth arguing this much over. Hes not even being discussed as a candidate.

Well...it's ok to agree to disagree, right?
While I have some candidates I prefer, I'm kinda at the point where I don't care anymore. I just want someone to fix this mess and give us some hope.

Not sure how I feel about Blatt as the head coach.... but maybe as an assistant? I'm still in the Thibs and Walton camp primarily.

i dont hate jackson. ive just talked to his assistant coach, who really had nothing but bad things to say about him. which after hearing makes me not want him anywhere near this team or our young players.

Nets are interviewing.....
Kennedy thinks we should pursue Scott Brooks. He seems to be buying into the KDtoBK cool aide.
Alex Kennedy: Scott Brooks
The former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach has been one of the more successful floor generals in recent years, finishing with a .610 winning percentage or better every season from 2009 to 2014. His best season was the 2011–12 campaign, when the Thunder advanced to the NBA Finals but lost to the Miami HEAT.
Over the course of his head coaching career, Brooks is 545-338 in the regular season and 39-34 in the playoffs. The 50-year-old did a great job creating a winning culture in Oklahoma City and uniting everyone in the locker room.
The only reason he was let go over the offseason – and replaced with Billy Donovan – was because the Thunder organization felt he wasn’t a championship-caliber coach and the front office went all-in on this season with Kevin Durant approaching unrestricted free agency this summer.
Still, despite his flaws, there’s no question that Brooks did a good job helping Oklahoma City make the leap from perennial lottery team to contender. He also created strong bonds with his star players and seemed to get along with everyone in the organization, from top to bottom. He and his staff also did a terrific job developing the organization’s young players – including guys like Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka among others.
He could be the coach that helps the Nets turn things around and get back into the playoff mix in the Eastern Conference. He would create a positive culture, unite everyone and help the team’s young players develop (since it seems they have a lengthy rebuild ahead of them, although they owe multiple first-round picks to the Boston Celtics).
Also, with the Nets looking to pursue Durant this summer (especially considering his ties to the organization and his recent praise of Brooklyn), it could make sense to hire the head coach he was very close with in OKC.
Brooks could be a very good long-term option for the Nets and he should be one of the candidates in the mix.

I don't think Brooks is a good in game coach. ISO ball, ISO ball, ISO ball is the only play they ran. Boring and inefficient basketball

And it looks like things still haven't changed lol.
While KD and Westbrook put up great stat lines, they shouldn't have to work this hard to get a win against averave/below-average teams.
People can badmouth playing in a system but if you have a good one, you can have greater impact while exerting less energy.
They have so much individual talent on that team and yet they still don't know how to get proper fit.

Brooks can be the assistant hot dog flipper at Nathan's Famous hotdogs in Barclays.
He's not a good NBA coach.

Yeah I watch the Thunder and I'm baffled at the sets that they run. They have solid talent and depth yet it comes down to Durant/Westbrook having to drop 60-70 pts combined to win. Not much team basketball....getting beaten by us, and having the Knicks without Melo take them to the the limit.
I think Golden State is really making me dislike how a lot of teams play now
