Stopped reading there, those days are over. You don't make a decision about the future based on past merit, especially not for a guy who didn't even tip you off that his bff was skipping town.

Well it doesn't really matter what your opinion is. Wade isn't going anywhere, and Whiteside hasn't shown the organization that he's worth max $$ to them. You act as if he's a hindrance. Whiteside's the player that Miami's gotta make a decision on, and even Pat's not sure.....Wade will be kept. End of story.

Greater volume would help but aside from that, I can see criticism from Heat fans or NBA fans in general on social media starting to get to him (if it didn't before)

Neither Wade or Whiteside's going to matter much unless we can find the right wing player to play with them... way I see it, it's either that or blow it up

Dragic needs to study Wade and Hassan tape. Such an easy relief option that he ignores in favor of one of our crappy 3pt shooters jacking one up.

Quit making excuses for Pat Riley. If he was blindsided, it's because he blinded himself.

For future reference, if some dude won't return your calls, he's not that into you.

100% no... This current group will not make it.. Heat needs to re-tool this summer.

That's simply wrong. Keeping Whiteside only means that he's the best player we can sign for the money. We could always turn around and trade him or any of our other players later.

Aren't we better without him tho lol

There's no way to gauge anyone's value with 1/2 the roster sitting out and other guys playing hurt.

No excuses needed. He gets paid to play, not to snitch on his friends. This ain't North Korea.

Lol @ "snitch on his friends". The lengths some of you will go to defend a guy who wanted to be loyal to lebron more than he wanted to help his own organization field a competitive team. But this thread isnt about that, so go ahead and quote this post with your final response so we can move on.

Hmmm, touche sir. Except most of what I said is backed by facts from credible reporters on the organization (Ethan Sckolnick, Mike Wallace, LeBatard); the latter isn't a reporter but has connections to the HEAT. Yours, not so much. Hassan isn't a max player, and the HEAT franchise seems to think he isn't either. You're entitled to your opinion, but I posted earlier has been backed. Whether or not you accept that is irrelevant.

Also, why is this a Wade v. Whiteside discussion?

Please let Hassan leave. These fans are so ungrateful. It's not up to the fans to decide whether or not he is worth the max. It's not your money, so who cares?

credit Shaq and Wade for Wade knowing how to setup Hassan. it comes from Wades past experience with a big man. Now who are our current players supposed to learn it from? My thoughts would be the coaching staff. You would think its comes from the amount of attention Wade draws but Ennis in his limited him also had nie dump offs. Our players can learn how to feed the big. These are small things we should be practicing. also teaching Hassan how to pass back out and players where to cut and be open for those pass outs.

nope!
Keep Whiteside unless for a deal the Heat cannot just ignore. Or
Keep Whiteside this season and check the options in the off-season. If the Heat can convince him to take lower than the max, that will be great.

from Greg Cote
If you opt to keep Whiteside, you are telling your fans this basic core is good enough to win a championship. Does Riley believe that?
100% no... This current group will not make it.. Heat needs to re-tool this summer.

I agree with Greg Cote, its not an easy decision to make but I'm confident Riley will make a good decision. A decision that is best for the franchise. The franchise is the 1st priority then the players personal interest.

Heat should use the caps space for a franchise changing player. Dumping McBob's contract is a must!

That statement makes no sense. Unless we are trying to argue our MGT is so incompetent that the assets we sign decrease in value here. Like Dragic has he decreased in value?, Deng has he decreased in value( Who Pat said is the most important signing our organization ever made)?, Winslow? Ok maybe thats not the right argument to fight but it still makes no sense to say signing Whiteside to market value means this team is a championship contender. We are trying to build a championship contender, it sounds like Pat wants to do it all in one swift move which honestly is not realistic. Hect simple common sense moves like spending top dollar on assistant coaches and an elite scouting department are no brainer moves we have yet to institute.

So you said its simply wrong. Whiteside the only option or this current core will win a championship?
Miami is currently at 6-8th place and possibly out of the 8th spot soon. Its bad if Miami is left with only 1 option. We can't simply say this current group will win a championship when in fact their struggling to be at the top 4 spot in the east???

This current core will not win a championship!!! Using most of the cap space to Whiteside makes this team basically the same, and that's what the article is saying. That's why Miami's cap space this off-season is so valuable that it should be use properly.

I'm not saying Riley and the management is incompetent. The fact right now is, Miami is at the 8th spot with the current roster. What I'm saying is, Heat needs to re-tool and make full use of the cap space because the current group will not win you championship. The cap space this coming off-season is so important to Miami that it needs to be use properly coz in the off-season of 2017, we might not have this chance to add another big name player coz we dont have cap space but the MLA and draft pick. Miami doesn't have an asset in a trade to use, that is why the cap space is their only chance to improve the team this summer. By giving max contract to Whiteside means Miami basically stay the same. If you're satisfied with this current group who is good for fighting a playoff spot, I'm not.

I'm not arguing Whiteside is no good or not, or if he deserve the max or not in my last post, but I'm simply saying, we stay basically the same with Whiteside getting the max.
