Andre needs some best enemies

Post#1 » by eddh0713 » Sun Jan 24, 2016 7:14 pm

And they need to include Baynes, Tolliver and Anthony. They need to make practices hell for Andre! They need to batter him and humiliate and MOTIVATE him. He still has the potential imo to be one of the best to ever play the game. He just needs to have people who really know how to give tough love! Otherwise he will just be an upgraded Darko.

Anyone that has ever played better than Darko can be considered an upgraded Darko. Baynes, Tolliver and Anthony are all upgraded Darkos lol

Dre doesn't strike me as an over competitive guy. HE doesn't have that MJ/Kobe a$$hole gene in him. I don't think bashing him around in practice makes him better or more motivated.
I think you'll see a more engaged Drummond when the guys around him are super motivated. He'll follow their lead.

I wish he was more like KCP and Stanley in terms of never letting the way the game is going to impact their confidence or effort.

This is honestly the answer that makes sense. He needs someone crazy and tough like Rasheed to whisper in his ear whenever he starts playing like crap like last night. Sheed did a lot of good when he was here, I think that is underrated.

Thought this was exactly the kind of thing we signed Joel Anthony for.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

^^THIS

Once Stanimal makes it through his rookie growing pains, I believe he set the example Dre follows. Dude already comes off as the most confident, most competitive, most mature, and least moody guy on the team.

If you are counting on fringe rotation guys to get your stars to play hard, things aren't going to go very well.

If Dre was a rookie on a MJ or Kobe team he would have quit basketball by now and took up gardening.

we grew up loving Ben Wallace, the Goin' to Work Pistons, the blue collar mentality... now we have to be kind with a whiny big baby.

I don't understand this indulgence.

I don't understand your hatred of Drummond.

I don't hate him, I expect him to give his 100% every night, cause we are going to pay him max contract.

I don't want our team to commit to mediocrity, as SVG said. He is the main reason if it happens.

Agree on him needing consistent effort. The whole team does, then again if he could lead by example that'd be huge.
