KD every summer plays at Melo's gym, they are very close, supposedly having dinner tonight, Melo made a comment like we are going to have to break bread and discuss where his head is out about free agency...

Your post is music to my ears. Where'd you see that Melo comment at? Melo has never played against KD in MSG since he's been a Knick. I'm getting really excited about this game tomorrow. Melo and KP will be looking to put on a show for KD

Can KD guard 2s night in and out? I know his defense has improved dramatically over the years. Imagine smaller 2s trying to cover him. We'd be a matchup nightmare for the entire league.

Idk if he can, but I'd love to find out next season. He should be able to...there's not too many great SG's, and he'll have more energy to use on defense since he'll be able to rely on Melo and KP offensively.

Tell me about it, Partner. Im numb to this ish.

What I will say is Im not one of those that will ramble..." but, but we have KP and melo why do we need KD they play like the same position."

Get the best players possible and put them on the floor together, its a players league. Im just not going to get ahead of myself with any potential free agent.

Re: Durant playing the 2

If you think about it most the top 2s in the east played the 3 or has the size to play the 3. Batum, Butler, Derozen, Middleton, are 6'7-6'8 and over 220 lbs. He could probably do it if he wanted to.

I doubt he even really thinks about becoming a knick though. :(

That is correct. Middleton is having one heck of a season as the Bucks SG (he's switches between SF and SG but has played more minutes at SG this season) and he's basically a poor mans Durant.

I just don't get why he'd come here. Odds are he stays in OKC and tries to wait out the SAS and GSW reign of dominance. He despises the media, so from a location standpoint, you can't do much better than that glorified strip-mall of a state Oklahoma. The big local newspaper in OKC had to apologize to him or some **** when they had the temerity to suggest he isn't clutch.

If he wants to make a move it'll be to the Wizards. He's from PG county, so that's home. He gets to play with a top pass first PG who is defensive minded and probably a better fit next to him than Russ. Bradley Beal is there too. I don't see why the Knicks would be more attractive unless the guy is a masochist. If he gets the max, who plays PG on that team?

The only thing more ridiculous than him coming here is going to Brooklyn to join their "core." Poor Mazzeo at ESPN... his beat is the most depressing, directionless team in the NBA. I guess he has to spin something to make that franchise relevant after the smoke cleared from their FO shake-up.

Just addressing the bold. That is the exact reason why he would leave. GSW is young and it'll be a long wait. Odds are he stays but you stated right off the bat why he would get out of the west.

Okay, fair enough. But why the Knicks and not the Wizards? Durant, KP, Melo is still probably not enough to get past prime LeBron, if we're being honest. And we still have no backcourt.

He would have to decide which trio would be better. Himself, Beal, Wall. Or, Himself, Melo, Porzingis.

The Knicks would likely move KP to the 5 and use Lopez to get backcourt help.

First off durant and melo are very close maybe closer than Lebrun and melo

Secondly do you realize how hard it would be for teams to match up with durant kp melo would be? They would easily be the second best team in the east and could beat he cavs

Have no reason why he wouldnt choose another eastern conference team over the knicks. Just stating that Durant has good reason to get out of the west. There is no waiting on GSW.

The garden, NY, Melo, Kp, and his relationship with fisher would be a starting point in the discussion of choosing NYK. But again, not going to really debate why this team over that team, hes a grown man that will make his decision on his own. As I stated before, a lot is riding on what his private discussions with Russ have been.

You take that back right now mister.

Durant is all time level great.

And I don't think we have a shot in hell. Maybe if he saw a different PG running the show...

I don't think he's leaving. No one is giving him better players to pair with than Westbrook and Ibaka.

Let me just add that GSW dominance is going nowhere.

Curry 28
Draymond 25
Thompson 25
Barnes 23

Their ancillary pieces may be aging, but they can fill the Bogut / Iggy roles.

They have the potential to win 5 rings IMO before Curry retires

Durant is not staying in OKC and is not signing with Washington.

Return to New York Knicks
