KD should force his way to the warriors.
sign and trade barnes with bogut + infinite future firsts XD
curry
klay
KD
green
ezli
:o
would the warriors even do klay + barnes tho? and risk messing anything up? ( if they break 72 wins and repeat this year).

I think interesting things might happen in trades and FA this year. The Spurs and Warriors are so dominant I think it triggers an arms race mentality among frustrated stars and front offices similar to Boston's big 3 assembly triggering the Lakers and Heat championship team formations.

It's pretty crazy how the Spurs/Warriors success is a byproduct of talent, chemistry/fit, depth and system almost in equal measure. Bloody hard to create that, let alone in one off-season. I expect teams and players to try though.

All that said it's going to be hard for KD to find a better team mate than Russ. It'd take a pretty severe amount of frustration or a golden (Heatles type) opportunity for him to leave.

Conley, Wade, KD, Melo, Zingis make it happen!

If the thinking is he needs to opt out again in a year, then the only difference between a 1 year deal in OKC and a 1 year deal in NYK is:
-- the 7.5% raises on the follow up contract (if and only if he stays on OKC after that 1 year deal)
-- The 5th year (6 years from now) as part of the original (2nd) contract (if and only if he stays on OKC after that 1 year deal)

That 5th year is a very big number, but to say he loses out you need to assume that Durant, stays on OKC again in a year, and is worth a 5 year deal in a year (so counting on a contract that he won't get this offseason) and in 4 years isn't worth a 1 year deal worth that pays as much (so then not counting on a future contract).

I feel pretty knowledgeable about the salary cap, but if he were to sign a 1 year deal with any other team couldn't he then just sign a 5 year max with them the next year with the cap hitting over 100 million? How long do you need to be on a team before you can be offered a 5 year deal with max raises?

5 year max with 7.5% requires the team to have Full Bird Rights, which the team gets after the player has played for them for 3 years. After 2 years the team would have Early Bird Rights, which allows them to offer the 7.5% raises, but no fifth year.

It's obviously absurd, but I would love to see this happen. This is maybe the only team I can think of that can outscore the Warriors. Assuming a $90 cap, and assuming the Knicks can dump everybody outside Melo, Porzingis and Grant, it would mean that Conley, Wasde and KD would have to share $54M in capspace. Could be done in theory...

I honestly wouldn't be so quick to laugh this scenario off. If there's any GM in the league that can lure Durant to NY, it's Phil Jackson.

Don't think Wade is needed tbh. That lineup with Afflalo instead could still beat anybody and it would leave more cap for a better bench.

Just trying to assess the likelihood here: how old are you, and do you have a pretty mouth?

The bottom line is..…
A) KD good friends with both Melo and Fisher
B) KD respects Porzingis game and praises him
C) KD father a huge Knicks fan
D) KD agent been very chummy with the Knicks FO of late

Then again maybe its just wishful thinking? But if Durrant was to sign this offseason with the Knicks, where would you rank the Knicks in the EC?

You forgot probably the most important point of all:

E) NYC is called the "Big Apple".....apples are interestingly enough KDs favorite fruit.

Seriously man, this is why there's such a terrible perception of Knicks fans, as if KD doesn't have good friends all over the league, or even on his current team. And respect of KP, really, that's what you're going with here? I won't even comment on the rest of the points, just ridiculous.

There are imaginary lines of dots leading Kevin Durant to nearly half the league.

Its not so far fetched. although extremely likely to happen...

It seems Fisher and KD are pretty close..
Durant on Porzingis: "When they made the pick I texted [Derek Fisher] and immediately said I like this kid, he can play."

Knicks obviously on the up and up.. Problem is where does he fit in the equation. Front court seems set with Rolo/KP/Melo..
Can he or would he want to play the 2?
Obviously if Durant would want to come here, Knicks would prob move Lopez for a guard but can they last defensively with KP/KD/Melo...

There are at least 3 or 4 better options for him in the east.

For what talking about a article, that speculates on KD and why he might be interesting in joining the Knicks? I even said it was wishful thinking, maybe you should be banned? I might have been following the Knicks longer then you been alive. Dude show a little class!

Wait a second. Doesn't KD dislike his Dad for leaving the family when he was a little kid? So his father being a Knicks fan should make it less likely for him to join them.
