In the meantime Aaron White started his career in Germany with quite nice effort. In first 13 games he averages 14/5/1 steal on .608/.154/.795. 3 pointers are quite off but it should be matter of time for him to boost it to .300/.350. PER 25, ORtg 130/DRtg 111(in German league it's 134/106).

I feel he could be better than Blair.

Isn't saying someone is being disingenuous the same thing as saying they're deliberately being misleading?

It definitely does not mean lying. What it means in this case is intentionally leaving out a pertinent fact because of its inconvenience for you.

He was a pretty bad 3-pt shooter in summer league too. As a white PF, he is morally obligated to become a better 3-point shooter. :D

Kidding aside, becoming a reliable 3-point shooter is obviously his ticket to playing in the NBA. Based on his performance so far, I'm really concerned that he's never going to get there. He's not good enough in other facets of the game to get away with being a mediocre 30-33% from 3-point range. He needs to hit 38% or so.

You are not correct, and I took an attack as an attack.

You said it "seems disingenuous".

Just to you. That's your perception. I know my intent.

Close this trolls thread. Wizards making the best rebounder in the game this year look like an embarrassment and a non factor. Our big men are solid

How cute...the troll disappears when he can't troll anymore.

I'll give him credit though...he did call it a few years back...this team is owned by a cheapskate, managed by a moron, and coached by an idiot. I'm only using his words.

TGW wrote:Seriously...this is probably one the worst front lines I've seen the Wizards trot out on the floor since the Laetner/jahidi/Popeye rotation.

Gortat (as I predicted before he was extended) is overwhelmed defensively and isn't consistent offensively. And at 30 he s just going to look worse as he ages.

Humphries is a joke. I'm not sure who's idea it was to start a mediocre bench player, but it was a bad one. I understand that Nene is a big overpaid lazy wuss who has no passion for basketball anymore, but they could have at least drafted another big man to groom while nene transitions to the netherworld. Instead we have a guy who grabs his balls in the bench.

Gooden is good for about 10 mpg at best. Blair...completely useless. We got a glimpse tonight of why he's garbage.

The front office yet again fails to improve the team In the offseason. The only time grunfail actually does something is when it's some panicked move where we end up giving up a ton.

This thread is an embarrassment! Gortat goes for 15 points 11 rebounds in Cleveland and manhandles their front court all without Nene and Gooden.

Gortat has one good game this year and it is against Mozgov (sp?) who may be the worst starting center in the league. Come on....

PS- Going 15 and 11, isn't quite "manhandling" either.

Mozgov is the worst starting C in the league? Nah, not by a long shot.

Don't forget the four 1st quarter blocks, including one on Lebron James' shot.

Ryan Hollins did show a little life against Miami, but he's basically been terrible. There's no reason to keep him around once Nene returns. Our main problem is still the PF position. Humphrey gave us a little hope with one good game but has pretty much disappeared since, and it looks like Wittman has lost confidence in him.

Trades are a long shot since we have so little to offer, so that leaves the D-league as the only other option. The best D-league PF that's available is Earl Clark. He's a decent 3 point shooter and has good size. I know he's had lots of chances already, and been released, but I think he's worth another look on a 10-day contract.

Just a quick comparison with the Celtics.

Celtics
PF Amir Johnson David Lee Jonas Jerebko Jordan Mickey
Center Kelly Olynyk Jared Sullinger Tyler Zeller
VS
Wizards
PF Jared Dudley Nene Hilario Kris Humphries DeJuan Blair
Center Marcin Gortat Drew Gooden

Ooof!!! Oldest, slowest, least-athletic front court in the NBA.

Meh. I still think Gortat is the best of the bunch. Boston has way better depth up front, but that's not why we lost. I think the difference is at wing and guard. Isaiah Thomas somehow outplays Wall. Crowder plays just as well, if not better than Porter. After that, we're talking about guys like Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart and Evan Turner just dominating our 10th-man caliber guys like Temple, Neal, Sessions and Oubre.

That was my point, where is the balance on this team? Why does EG saddle a PG like John with slow-pokes?

You're both right.

Gortat and Sullinger are more or less on a par (with Gortat being a bit more productive and playing more minutes). For the rest, they are way better off for bigs. Johnson is more productive than Nene and his minutes don't need to be held down like Nene's do. We have no one else even acceptable. They do. And they have young guys who haven't peaked. Their bigs also cost way less than ours!

They also have better SGs than we do, and they have a PG who's on a par w/ our pride and joy best player. And don't forget that Smart is a point guard as well -- in a big body.

At the wing, Crowder is the equal of Porter, but Dudley's a bit more productive than Turner. We have Oubre, but they have youth all across their roster.

The Boston Celtics are a level above us, pure and simple. A better team with a brighter future.

Yeah but - we went to the second round of the playoffs the last two years - clearly worth the tradeoff...

You mention Boston is a level above us, another aspect is that Brad Stevens is a much better coach and game manager than Wittman will ever be. That being said bring back Josh Harrelson and watch the Kentucky chemistry overflow into points and great +/-

*Bumping* To demonstrate once again that guys on a message board are 5 steps ahead of our bumbling FO. Even before this thread we discussed our front court weakness during the off-season...and Millie fears what would happen if we were to somehow be without the great Ernie Grunfeld. Haha!
