What is Ersan worth?

Post#1 » by red96 » Tue Jan 26, 2016 10:46 pm

Greetings Pistons fans, I was wondering what you guys think it would take for SVG to part with Illyasova? Since the Pistons are in the play-off picture, im thinking they'd prefer a rotation level player over something like a late 1st, or project players years away. Would the Pistons still be interested insomeone like Markeef Marris? Thanks.

Since Ersan fits well, we'd need a clear talent upgrade at the 4 (that fits our system). Players like that are limited. Since he is an expiring, and Morris is a questionable fit here, I can't see Ersan being traded.

Probably more likely to get Meeks for Morris than Ersan. Ersan fits the team really well and is a good reason of the games we've won. He's not consistent which is why we still need a starting PF. But considering Markieff's value is at all time low, Phoenix isn't getting much in return. You guys will have to trade him to us for Meeks if you do end up trading him to us.

I value Ersan more than most here. Our success is so dependent on 3pt shooting and he is one of our only good shooters. So I think we would need at least an equally good 3pt shooter in any trade. (or have a side trade lined up to add more 3pt shooting that way).

His team defense is underrated too. Leads the league in offensive fouls drawn by a wide margin, which is even better than a shot-blocker imo because it's a guaranteed TO, whereas a block often goes OB or to the offense and they can still score.

IMO not much he is a mediocre player with very little impact. Even when he score 20pt it just don't feel impactful compared to Reggie and Andre or even Morris. Also he makes some very questionable plays that can't be overlooked cause he isn't a impact player. Probably would be better as a reserve but I would still prefer Tolliver in that role over him.

I would take the risk and trade him for Markieff or a project player this team is still young I think his production can be replaced easily.

Ersans #'s have been going up each month. Averaging 12.6 ppg and 7.5 boards in January. He probably couldn't fetch us much, but i'm not a fan of moving him. First year with these players and system

An attractive expiring contract can always fetch a decent return.

Anyways, Ersan's shooting Percentage from the 3 is as good as Loves who everyone worships. In addition, I think Ersan is a better defensive player than Love. Love is the better rebounder tho. Hard to find quality with $8 mil per season and Ersan is quality.

only for the charges he draws you must respect him.

He's worth a ton more than he would fetch in a trade, especially with our lack of shooters

We would be looking for someone who does what Ersan does, but better. He fits the system and his contract isn't bad.

The only players that come to mind are Dirk, Ryan Anderson, and Love.

Thank you all for your feedback. I have an trade idea in the general trade thread that involves the Pistons if anyone wanted to take a look. I appreciate your opinions and thanks again.
