we are not gonna hate the rest of the season, though. especially if other starters start to play defense and join Morris and KCP. Jackson showed he can at Utah, Illy and Tolly hustle, draw charges, but we lack rim protection, as you know (and as some of you pretend not to see).

Hate the rest of the season? What? You can't be a pistons fan if you don't appreciate some grind it out basketball.

Can you imagine SVG in the locker room telling the team to take it easy on defense lol

I know what you mean though, hitting 3's is a huge help towards winning but at the end of the day we're not good enough defensively to coast for a while and then "turn it on" when we need. Besides, we have a young team and the last thing SVG wants to do is teach his team that giving less than 100% (especially on defense where effort plays a big part) is acceptable.

That's why we still need a starting PF. We'll keep fighting to win games and even when we shouldn't be in games, SVG figures out how to keep it close. That's what makes him a great coach. This season isn't about being great. It's making the right direction to make the Playoffs. If we make the Playoffs, this season is a success. Come next season, we need to make a big signing or trade. I can imagine if Cleveland doesn't win this season, they'd be willing to trade Love even more. He's not a great defender but he compliments Drummond really well and would probably make our front court unstoppable. Keep in mind Kevin is playing without the ball since Kyrie and Lebron need it to be effective. I can imagine him fitting more on our team than Cleveland. He'd become our #2 option offensively. He'd be our best shooter. I wouldn't say it wouldn't happen. It's likely considering the Cavs organization is garbage.

Love-Drummond, aka the worst interior defense ever. WOW!

Love-Drummond would be a nightmare... I'm really amazed when people want Love on the Pistons. Makes no sense whatsover. That interior defense would be soft as a bag of marshmallows.

Horford, Ibaka... YES.
Love,Anderson... NO.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

If you guys think we can get someone better than Love then you're mistaken. If Horford doesn't come here, Stan will have to pull another miraculous Morris trade and salvage what he can while he can. If Kevin Love comes here, you work with it and hope SVG doesn't lose his vocal cords yelling defense.

Small world. My first job in Santa Cruz county was in Watsonville at Skyway Freight Systems (now out of business), just down the road from West Marine. Started in 93. Life is good, living near the beach, managing a high tech job without having to go over the hill. Where did you migrate to?

Northern Nevada. Mining - running heavy equipment. My brother worked at West Marine for a spell (late 80s). Yes, small world.

the biggest difference in UTAH is we had D at the point of attack. Its cliche but it set the tone for our team.

Dre's defense is as polarizing as STuckey's defense.........in your mind you feel like he's good, ......he's not that good

Some would be the key word, not 40 games. Hate may have been the wrong

I will say we played better Defense against Utah, but they missed a lot of shoots that should've probably went in too.

so did we, we protected the rim pretty well(other than gobert). We essentially got that win w/o Dre. that's pretty impressive
