Who is your top priority NEW player we should go after this summer? **POLL**
Just bored with no the long layoff,
Who should we try to add this summer?
Assuming we're keeping Wade (practically guaranteed)
And keeping Whiteside (seems likely)
Who should we try to squeeze into our remaining cap (We'll probably have somewhere between 10-16 Mil, depending on Wade and Whitesides contracts and if we move Mcbob)
Durant is extremely unlikely for a Varity of reasons so I'm not listing him.
No way we can add 2 of them, so pick your favorite and add the second option in a comment if you've got one.

Re: Who is your top priority NEW player we should go after this summer? **POLL**
Here are the numbers:
Chris Bosh: $23,741,060
Goran Dragic: $15,891,725
Josh McRoberts: $5,722,450
Justise Winslow: $2,593,440
Tyler Johnson (cap hold0: $1,180,431
That's a total of $49,129,106
Renounce all exemptions.
Add 7 minimum players at 543,471 each (incomplete roster charge - see http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q14)
$51,846,461
$89,000,000 proposed salary cap
$37,153,539
You need to sign Wade, Whiteside, and your mystery player. You get back $543,471 for every player you sign (inversion of incomplete roster charge).
Suppose we can get Wade for 3/45:
(2016-7): 13,929,193
(2017-8): 14,973,883
(2018-9): 16,096,924
Sum = $45,000,000
So, $37,153,539 - $13,929,193 = $23,224,346
Whiteside's maximum is $20,956,974
If you pay him the max you will have left $2,267,372 + (543,471)*2 = $3,354,854
Note that you no longer have Josh Richardson anymore. If you want to keep him you will have $3,023,419.
If you manage to get rid of McRoberts, you will have $8,745,869.
So, I chose "other".

Spoiler:
Dear Gom, This thread isn't about your estimations of what Wade and Whiteside will get. Both are unknown. Wade can take a 4 years deal with a discount, Whiteside can take less the Max. Some of these free agents might make less then huge contracts next year. We don't know yet. This is about who is your desired target if we can free up enough space.

Ok, I'll take Draymond Green then. Did I do it right now?
FWIW, you probably can get Eric Gordon for 2/20. It's close.

Sorry, no. He's not a free agent.
If Wade takes a 4 years deal of 46 Mil (first year around 10 Mil) instead of your own offer of 45 for 3 year, And Whiteside takes 19 Mil first year instead of his Max of 21, We trade Mcbob and magically found ourselves with around 15 Mil in free cap space, that might be enough for almost all of these options.

You have a point.
Wade:
10060538
10815078
11626209
12498175
Frees up another 3M.

Kent Bazemore is pretty much unknown to most people but he's having a breakout year, he's shooting 42% from 3, he's youngish, can play SF and SG, and athletic. I really like his game and his fit.
He's not proven, but we might need to take a reasonable gamble on someone we think can grow here.

Spoiler:
The only guy on that list guaranteed to make more then 15 Mil IMO is Harrison Barnes. Batum might, but it's not a lock. They all can take a 15 mil first year deal and no one would be shocked. You need some luck, and some Riley involved, but it's possible.
Going far in this years playoffs and looking like a future contender will help our case a lot.

I like all the players you listed, RexBoyWonder. My only issue is with having funds to sign them. We need to stretch Stretch.

No need to stretch anyone yet, Mcbob has enough time to get his value back up. It's very possible we could dump him off with Stokes to some young team this summer and take no salary back. He's not making Max money, if he looks good these playoffs he could have neutral value by himself.

There's also a very good chance the we don't make any major moves other than resigning our guys and acquiring any players on 1 year deals who can help. Kinda like in 09-10. People wanted Riley to forget about the Free agency pipe dream and instead build around Wade asap. One of those moves was to bring back Lamar Odom, a move if Riley had done would've made the big 3 impossible.
The 2017 free agent class is looking really good:
Most likely Durant, Westbrook, Blake Griffin, potentially LeBron, Stephen Curry, Jrue Holiday, Andre Iguodala, Jeff Teague, J.J. Redick, Victor Oladipo, C.J. McCollum, Rudy Gobert.
Possibly the best free agent class since 2010.
I'm not saying Riley will definitely wait but I certainly wouldn't put it past him to save cap space for one of those guys instead of blowing it all on guys like Batum and or Ryan Anderson.
As a fan being told to wait doesn't sound nice, it didn't back then and it doesn't now but it might be what we're in for.

Other (Uncle Beno)
Other than him, there's not really any free agents I'm super excited about. There's Durant, but he's a pipe dream anyways. Like Quiz said, 2017 is way more interesting.

Fournier is the better defender. Batum is the better passer. Both shoots well from the 3 point line. It's really a toss up.

A good point as per usual Quiz, timing is almost everything in FA. However I would like to ad that the timing of these two upcoming classes isn't quite the same as 09' & 10' for the reason that this isn't necessarily an either or situation where we have to choose which FA-class we'd like to go for. This time Riley can do his best in the summer of 16' & 17' because of the unprecedented 2-step cap increase. How this might be possible?
Scenario; Say that Pat is able to get a solid piece this summer for average starter money at a 15ish/year, a best case scenario. This would put us at absolutely full yes, but the 2-step cap increase will set many other organisations in an unfortunate situation with burning money in their pockets and not enough solid players to spend said cap-space on. This will be especially apparent the second summer of missing out on their targeted piece (remember the Boozer & IsoJoe contracts. Imagine this time around, good god). This should make it reasonably easy to offload a tried and tested player on a good contract in the summer of 17', hell it might even net us a bad pick or something while we then again can be in business for a FA summer upgrade in 17' with the 15mill and whatever the cap-increase will be. Maybe we even had Wade on another one year deal and we're really in play for big things.
All in all. Not so sure we have to choose, but rather just aim to get as much talent on the roster as possible.
Spoiler:
*Voted Anderson btw, before this nights outburst I might ad
