1/28 Atlanta at Indiana

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Thu Jan 28, 2016 10:23 pm

Indiana is favored to win by 3 points.
They won the previous meeting 12/28/15 IND 93 - ATL 87
Indiana has only won 3 of their last 10 games.

Terrible half. Horrible.

George has 0 points, has been in foul trouble all night, and we're still down 7. Millsap sprained his ankle near the end of the half, as well.

Not much going on with them tonight.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

Teague's playing well tonight.

Can't help but wonder if he's playing well enough to make Bud reconsider moving him, or just making himself more desirable on the trade market.

We finally took the lead, and they go on a 10-0 run. Thabo had one of the lowest bbiq plays ever fouling George on a 3 point attempt after the ball was already out of his hands.

Bad defense, terrible rebounding, shooting WAY TOO MANY 3S again. They just don't seem to adjust when they can't hit from outside.

Pacers killing them from the interior and midrange.

Team has way too many flaws/deficiencies .

I love how the local beat reporters where thumping their chest about korver making 6 threes in a row last 2 games.

I wanna nickname the 2015/16 Hawks: the choke artists. These guys sh*t their pants whenever they have to perform in clutch situations. They'll be lucky to make it out of the first round.

As for rebounding, this needs to be fixed by next season or its on Budenholzer. If this is because of scheme then ADJUST, FIX IT. If it's because of players, then bring in some big men over the summer. I'm sick of watching this team get worked on the offensive glass every night.

The trends are there, they just aren't that good. Even without Millsap they shouldn't lose to INDIANA and their bench.

+17 on the boards for Indy??

Rebounding really is an issue.
Currently only 31 of them.
Ugh!!!!!

I don't even care if we blow it up anymore. I'd rather have a team that's going nowhere in the present but at least has a chance for future success through the draft (like the Braves) rather than have a squad that's going nowhere now or in the near future (especially if we re-sign Al).

At the end of the day, that 33-2 run might end up being the biggest curse on this franchise, because all its done is given us a false sense of hope. Not the fans, I'm talking about the actual decision makers who are about to lock in long term with this core.

As we proceed forward I really prefer not to have most of our talent locked down long-term.
We need a legit superstar and I doubt we get one by free agency or trade. He'll need to be drafted.
It's just a bad time at the present time and Teague possibly be moved will continue to not help things. I do support moving him.

The next five games will continue to be difficult with the exception of Philly. Hell, Philly may even give us trouble.

.Rebounding continues to be an issue.
.Bazemore still looks bad every time he puts the ball on the floor (although his corner 3's and overall jumper have definitely improved)
.Korver still can't find it

Stopped PG13 yet again but the supporting cast goes off....yet again. Turner has been impressive and on a tear recently. Kid looks good.

Just melted there at the end. It is what it is, we all knew that matching last year's regular season would be extremely difficult. It's been a very inconsistent up and down season so far. Yet we still lead our division, tells you a lot about our division. I'm hoping this team just comes together and start playing their best basketball by playoff time. That's all.

I feel like I am purposely torturing myself and only watching this team out of obligation as a fan lately. Just awful.

The only way I'd advocate not pressing the reset button would be if we got Hassan Whiteside. I'd LOVE to get him on our team: he's an exceptional rebounder and rim protector (would have to work on that jumper though), but I don't think he chooses to come here. I'd trade Horford for him right now for his bird rights.

There's also Dwight, but he's just a headache.

If you think Dwight is a headache....Whiteside is worse.

It's my understanding MIA is fed up with his antics and behavior. He can fill a box score, but he neglects to do simple things like rotating on defense, proper screens, moving the ball in an offense.

He is the anti-Horford...and I mean that in the absolute worst way. Think Josh Smith at his worst. And if Pat Riley, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh (Two Hall of Famers and a perennial All Star) can't control/inspire/influence him...I'm not sure anyone here will.

If he is infuriating to THOSE guys in a contract year, he'll only be worse once he has his millions.
