Boston Red Sox @ Seattle Mariners

Post#1 » by Bay_Areas_Finest » Tue Jun 26, 2007 4:44 am

As I make this thread, it is 6-2 in favor of the M's in the 7th inning of Game 1.

Jeff Weaver was fantastic for us. He went 5 2/3, only allowing ONE earned run, but his pitch count got up there. He did a good job of locating the ball low in the strike zone, and the bullpen has just been great (Green struck out Manny as I typed this sentence lol).

We scored 5 in the bottom of the 5th with clutch hitting from Bloomy and Lopez, and wildness from the Sox pen.

Lets go M's! Get this one for us!

Gah...beat me by a couple seconds. I'll just merge this...

Another very good performance by Jeff Weaver. Shutting down the Pirates is one thing, but tonight's performance against the Red Sox is what I was looking for. Even when Weaver got into trouble, it was primarily the fault of a lousy defense.

And the team scored runs solely by taking pitches...huzzah.

This is also the point in the season where fans start to forget how bad Sexson was in the first half.

Unfortunately the AL is ridiculously stacked at catcher...

Good game...though I have only seen the 8th inning to now, heh. All I need it the 9-2 and I know it was a good game...esp. when Weaver was pitching, holy ****.

Yeah, Weaver has been a beast over his past four outings. My friend was ribbing me, saying how Weaver's season is a failure, but I told the bastard that he still has over half a season to prove himself, and he's doing that right now.

His location has just been really good. Keeping the ball down in the zone.

Its a good thing we didnt give up on Weaver. We need starters right now and he is pitching just as well as anyone on the team.

Felix tomorrow, lets get another one.

It doesn't get any better than a Willie Bloomquist home run.

Seriously.....

Lol man, I would like to take all the credit for giving Bloomquist the nickname "Big Hit." :D

Willie just gave us the lead back with a single up the middle. 5-4 now!

Of course, Felix pitching like a moron isn't helping the cause.

This game will probably go down to the wire.

BIG SEXY!!

This has really been a great game. The teams are swinging the bats well and its going back and forth.

Come on, bullpen, just get us to the 9th.

Damn, Putz is an absolute beast!

I started to really worry about this club during that 6 game losing streak, but they've come back with a vengeance. Really playing well, now lets get the sweep tomorrow!

Putz was pretty damn impressive in the 9th yesterday. He's had a few scarey saves, and a bunch of saves where he had a nice buffer, but yesterday the game was close, we were playing the best team, good hitters at the plate, and he just smoked them down.

Finally Joel Piniero does something good for the Mariners. All it took was him switching teams...

You suck, Joel.

God, it was bad enough the Mariners swept the Sox; now their basketball counterpart had to absolutely bumfondle us as well
