This is why I see AV as tadeable this summer. I mean I would offer Big Al no more than the mid level.

Speaking as a Warriors fan, that's a huge overpay. With the estimated salary cap of $89mil for 2016-17, that's a 4/89 RFA max offer. The Warriors would not match that. Honestly, they probably wouldn't match an offer that's a good deal lower than 4/89.

I believe someone mentioned 4/55 earlier in this thread for Ezeli, and I think that's probably at the edge of what the Warriors might offer or match. Now, if Bogut decides out of the blue to retire after this season, then all bets are off.

Is this an exception to 33?

Theoretically, Miami would be using every bit of their cap space to sign Whiteside to this deal, since they don't have Bird Rights on him. Ultimately, it depends on what Wade signs for, and if they work to keep Deng, Anderson, etc, while also if they can dump McRobert's salary for nothing in return. There are workarounds, but in this theory, Miami wouldn't be using bird rights, but cap space, so it wouldn't be using 33 in anyway.

Thanks Scott for your reply. I know that of course and all my calculations assume that Riley has to have a deal lined up with Wade and Whiteside within cap space and be very fast to get it done. My question though is about sonictecture's "talent value resign". I think what he is referring to is a way to sign a player to a five year deal using cap space *without* having bird rights. I recall something about this in the past, but I've looked in all my usual places and found nothing.

Thanks again!

My reference to talent value signing referred to signing a player for more than you'd like because if you lose him via free agency you have no way to recoup the talent lost.

Hey curious on what you like so much better about Ezeli?

I'm wondering the same. I think $12M is about right... so he'll probably get 16m.

I agree he will get it ... but Whiteside shouldn't get the max.

He's a primadonna and egomaniac.
The fact that the Heat don't want to keep him despite what he has done for them should tell you plenty

Whiteside - someone somewhere is going to give him a four year deal approaching the max. I don't like it, but that's the truth

Jefferson - 2 years, $26M? Low-risk deal that could pay dividends if he stays healthy and in shape

Noah - same as Jefferson

Ezeli - he is restricted right? Either way, I'd give him 4/40 without a second thought. My guess is a team overpays him to try and pry him off GSW. 4/$52M.

Zaza - 2 years, $18M. Let's be real, is he anywhere as good as he's showing without Rick Carlisle by his side?

Hibbert - similar to Al/Noah but less injury history and younger. 3 years, $42M

Mozgov - similar to Zaza. Mozgov has had exactly one good season

4 year max for Ezeli? With the cap jump, the max starts at well over $20M/yr

What about Pau Gasol, what would he sign for on the open market?

Unless he gets that from the Hornets, I don't know who's giving it to him.

Whiteside - he ll get to go around a 4 year deal max. And that's coz many will compete to have him (Chicago will with Noah out and Pau getting Older, Atlanta will if Horford bails, Bucks will after dumping Monroe for a defensive C,Lakers might too if they toss BigRoy)

Jefferson - not sure, so far i think his best chance is for the Hornets to re-sign him at 2 years 26M. Otherwise, 2 year 18M.

Noah - Could get a 2 year 20M somewhere, but unlike Jefferson the Bulls aren't gonna make that offer to keep him.

Ezeli - i think he ll stay at GSW with a 4 year 40M. This team has grown great chemistry to be disbanded partially.

Zaza - Bucks might go for having him back with a 2 year 18-20M or stay on Dallas for a same deal.

Hibert - he ll go for that long term sign 4/40. Probably stay with the Lakers. Perhaps the Bucks might be interested also.

Mozgov - Same as Jefferson. Most likely he ll stay at the Cavs with a 2 year 18-20M.

Years and dollars

Whiteside - MAX x 4 (Dallas)
Jefferson - 18M x 3 (Hawks)
Noah - 20M x 4 (Lakers)
Ezeli - MAX x 4 (Mavs)
Zaza - 12M x 4 (Wizards)
Hibbert - 12M x 2 (Spurs)
Mozgov - MAX x 4 (Celtics)

Ezeli I believe will fit Stevens system better than Lopez, I think there is upside to Ezeli's game that is not there with Lopez. I think the Celts would benefit from Ezeli's better rebounding.

And another thing is that Ezeli, does not cost any cheaper assets to aquire. You just can't look at the salary of each player, but if you give up cheaper productive players and pay a premium salary for a player bought in using those assets. sorry I took so long to respond.
