If Uthoff stayed at UW.. we might have 2 national championships. He developed later, but I think under Bo, he would have challenged Duje for minutes. He could have been another solid 6th/7th man. Still a horrible decision on his part.

He's leading the Big Ten in scoring on a top 5 team. I think he's fine with his decision.

I agree with both of you I think. I do think it was a bad decision. I do think he could have put us over the top for the championship. He still would have had an opportunity to be a scoring leader on a top team (had he been here this year).

However, of course he isn't going to regret his decision. In his mind, this is his time at Iowa to make a run at a championship. And honestly, there's a much easier path to doing so this season.

Bad feeling that we're going to lay an egg tonight after the big win against Indiana. Hope it doesn't happen.

Illinois doing a great job on defense right now. Gonna have to hit some threes to stop them from packing the paint.

at some point a player just plays without thinking. Iverson did that in the first half. Hopefully it carries over throughout the rest of the season.

I like Showalter but JFC, at some point you have to knock down an open shot.

In season rankings aren't the end all be all when everything is considered. The Badgers were first overall within the past two years.

Wisconsin had a much better surrounding cast to fill around Uthoff.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda... I'm indifferent. The last two years were amazing from a fans's perspective.

Good win, wasn't pretty but good win. 3 for 3 in this 5 game stretch of must wins.

Kid can really fill up a stat sheet.

I figure 19 wins and they are in the tourney. That's four home wins plus Minnesota on the road plus a win in the B1G tourney. Tall order but very doable.

Uthoff would have challenged Dekker and Hayes for minutes....he is that good. Definitely better than Dukan. Dukan would be in fifth place.

Or maybe Wisconsin misses out on one or both of those Final Four berths because Uthoff changes the dynamics of what exactly did happen in either or both of those tournament runs. There were some close wins each year.

That's also the rub of saying if only X player was with a team who made a really deep run in the NCAA Tournament, but came up just a game or two short.

Sure there is the chance that this one player could have helped the team win it all, but it's also possible that the player could have changed the dynamics of what exactly did happen in a way which contributed to a loss before reaching the Final Four, even if you are hypothetically adding a good player to the mix.

Right. And it's not like UW needed help on offense. They had the most efficient offense in the history of KenPom....by far.

course he would've improved the team and possibly been the difference. But being that NCAA isn't a 7 game series we have no idea what would have happened. Would have changed team dynamics, and also the seeding and draw for both tournaments. So maybe a matchup hits wrong and they don't make either FF.

I thought it was a mistake on his end just because he had to sit out another full year. But who knows, maybe he was just home sick and didn't develop great friendship with the guys here and just wanted to play with his boys from Iowa. Can't blame the kid for doing what he thought would make him happy.
