Knight/Warren/Goodwin/2016 Top 5 for Hayward? That is way too much. Take out Warren or the pick and then that becomes a maybe.
who cares, Hibbert is expiring and Young's salary isn't even necessary for the deal
Great. Just make sure neither player gets off the plane. Waive or flip them immediately
Young is negative value, we take them on to entice the lakers. Of course we waive him immediately after. I dont want him anywhere near Book or Len. Hibbert is an expiring so its all good.
I would do Knight, Warren for Hayward. Jazz wont trade unless they get a nice young player... Warren is a potential 20ppg scorer with touches so he might be able to push the deal through.
I like a tall backcourt... For defense. Then have Hayward make plays from the SF spot.
Forget play making PGs... There isnt anyone in the league who can replicate Nash. The modern era pushes for PGs to score. Rondo and Rubio arent scorers but need to be on a team that has 3 other players who can score 15 plus on any given night for them to work.

Hayward adds IQ and play making from the SF spot.
Still not sure why Jazz would let him go.
I would too, id throw in Goodwin and/or Cle 1st if necessary. Although i gotta ask, why the Hayward talk? Has there been any rumbles of him being available?

They have Alec Burks... Inked up at 8 million a year. Goodwin looks like he can become a similar player to Burks.
Jazz needs a SF replacement if they trade Hayward.
Then they can rotate Exum at the PG/SG spot and make him the play maker.
Don't think there is any rumbling about the Jazz making anyone available but they need a PG and while I don't think Knight is a true PG I think he is a better playmaker than what the Jazz currently have.
What's the point? Watch us start winning games, and only a handful of us will be happy. And then so many fans, who hated Horny, will be wishing he was still coach.

Let's also not forget that Knight was 4th in All-Star voting, while IT wasn't anywhere close, and IT is 2 years, 10 months older. Also, IT is 5'10', with a 6'2" Wingspan and 7'8" Reach, whereas Knight is 6'3", with a 6'8" Wingspan and 8'3" Reach--he's got a 5"-7" advantage in all aspects. And IT is purely a PG, whereas Knight is more SG than PG, and I a better 'fit' next to Bledsoe. Of course the pick tied to IT is going to be better, as on paper Knight is the better prospect. And IT had a lot of issues on this team, we didn't know then, that Knight was going to have issues. Leave IT on this team, and leave Brandon Knight on the Bucks, and any guesses who would look better this year, right now? I don't. People would be bashing IT just like last year for the same issues he had last year, and give fans the knowledge that we almost traded for Knight, and they would be pining for Knight, wishing we would've signed him and traded IT.
Again, hindsight is 20/20; a lot harder to project these issues than it is to look back and say "Wow, that was a horrible deal."
Lets not pretend we loved the Knight deal from the beginning. It was horrible then, and its horrible now. We only talked ourselves into liking Knight because of this great play at the start of the season, and because we had to for our own mental health. Giving up that pick and young players in Plumlee and Ennis too? Well thats just gravy.
IT had to be chased out of town because of the chaos he "caused". Dragic was crying, and the front office had to look for someone who was responsible (even though it was their fault). The suns fandom would riot had we kept the supposedly "ballhog" and napoleon complex IT over their homegrown hero Goran.
Personally id have neither of the three PG's. Draft picks are sexier because if they pan out, you get control of a young player for low cost for a long time. If you dont wanna take it, you can always trade it for good value. And really, Bled is good enough. The fiasco at last years trade deadline should have been a sign for the FO to ditch the two PG lineup. Now im just glad its gonna be forcibly gone because of our lights-out SG rook.
I'm with you and Frank on this. I've made no secret that I strongly disliked the Knight trade from the beginning. I don't disagree that Knight is probably a better fit next to Bledsoe because of his size and in that respect, McD did the right thing by getting your "star" player a team mate that is a better fit. But I never thought Knight was that guy. I didn't like how he got points, I didn't like his offense and I didn't like that he couldn't run an offense. I especially didn't like that he's coming off
And that's all my point is. At the time, McD did what he needed to do. I never claimed that Knight was our savior, or that I even like his play. But claiming NOW, that somehow we KNEW back then, that McD made a bad deal, is 100% "Hindsight". And by somehow trying to say that IT would be an All-Star were he still on the Suns is ridiculous, too, or that Knight wouldn't likely be better on the Bucks right now. Neither Ennis, nor Plumlee are tearing it up right now, either.
Again, all I'm saying is the Knight was almost an All-Star, and was a better fit than IT was on this team. Dragic forced McD's hand; and while he was able to get good value for Dragic, his haul for Knight wasn't great value. But the draft pick for IT was not a bad deal, and most here liked that deal.
But to act like we knew that getting Knight was a bad deal is MMQBing at it's best. And by trying to combine the deals, as well as the contract Knight signed, is disingenuous as well. They were two separate deals, and again, many were thrilled to get IT off this team. The fact we got a 1st Round Draft pick for the previously 60th overall, 5'10" PG, was viewed by many Suns' as good value.
Knight was also playing pretty well with Bledsoe, overall. In November he was 22pts, .400 3PT%, 6 assts. Since Bledsoe went down, he's fallen off. Why don't we wait to condemn him until Bledsoe is healthy?
Mr-Al wrote:Think we have anything (besides Booker) that would get Russell from the Lakers?
They envision Westbrook their either way
I think him and Booker would make an interesting pairing
Maybe like Chandler + Knight + Whatever for Russell + Hibbert + whatever
It's possible that having Chandler would make LA more appealing for free agents this summer
It also allows us to explore Bledsoe trades in the summer
Lakers would only deal him for a “superstar” and view him as ther prized possession for now. Its too early to call DLo a bust because Byron Scott is ruining him but he seems kinda egocentric and finally admitted that he doesn’t deserve starting minutes. I never saw the huge ceiling people were raving about because he’s a unathletic, slow heavy footed combo guard with no explosive first step with limited finishing ability and he can’t go strogn with his hand. He’s fundamentally sound and has a tight handle but I don't think he becomes anything special if he doesn’t become a Curryesque off the dribble shooter or a floor general. DLo was supposed to be a polished immediate impact skills guy so I think its what you see is what you get. Mudiay was supposed to be the raw developmental pick and he’s progressing better imo

From what I have seen of Booker - he may not be untouchable but he is damn close and the kind of player you want to build around. People compare him to Klay - that's not fair to either of them. LEt Booker be his own guy. But the comparisons are real and valid.
As for the Suns - Ryan just needs to DO something
Kieff, Teletovic and Tucker should not be on the Suns roster on Feb 19
And if somebody wants Chandler - (come on Danny Ainge) - do it
I wonder if Danny would want a guy like Enes Kanter - work a three way with Chandler to OKC and D Lee to the Suns. Granted, OKC is playing so well and Chandler is similar to Steven Adams
If we were to trade him to NY, I'd want Calderon back since he's more of a passing guard. Melo really likes him though so my guess is we'd trade for Afflalo. We could then spin off Afflalo this summer.

I think there will be other options for Markieff - but if this is the option, I take it on Feb 19
Suns are still 5 games ahead of the Lakers and 7 games ahead of the Sixers. That Lakers pick was top 3 protected - Suns were never getting it and neither will the Sixers - Lakers are going for 65 losses . Suns are right there behind them
