Just so we understand why Beasley is not in the NBA and players like McRoberts have a roster spot (when healthy), look at these two plays below where McBob doesn't even touch the ball but his positioning aids the team at getting open looks and points. There are no stats for things like that.

When have you ever seen Beasley make off the ball plays like that?

McRoberts main issue has been health. This has made him tentative to shoot at times which frustrates fans. I get it. But his under the radar contributions are obvious IF you stop watching the ball and watch his positioning. I am also not buying that he is an equal defender to Beasley. I believe I read a few days ago that he was leading the team on defensive ratings or something along those lines. If he doesn't play defense, Spo wouldn't play him like Beasley, period.

Good post Heat4life.

Mcbob is a classic no stats but winning player type of a guy. Most fans don't like these type of players, but they're getting minutes because their teams know they're contributing in areas that are hard to quantify.

He's making 5 Mil per year, that's small change for an NBA big. He's a solid piece to have, and if he gets his shot going with some more time and confidence he'll be a very nice piece to have.

Lol at Ethan having an "agenda". I rather have the people covering the team be more rational and balanced than unabashed homers. That's one of the reasons I think the Heat broadcast crew in one of the best in the NBA.

Look Whiteside is a great asset to have in a vacuum. Hell I want us to retain him too but the question is do you pay him a max to keep him? What is his value in the "modern NBA"? What the Suns started and what we accelerated and then GSW perfected is small ball. It's here to stay. Thing with Whiteside is that his basketball IQ and feel for the game is just not there yet. He can get there but it's not a coincidence that the offense flows a bit better without him on the floor yet.

Either way, there is still a lot of ball left to be played and Hassan can definitely get better.

ok so no scoring, no defense but hey he stands there when Bosh hits a 3. ill just wait until common sense reveals itself , Mcbob is a scrub. that will play out.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

As Stat's good screen-setting has shown these past few games, "standing" in the right place can be impactful.

I used to play on a team w/ a player like McRob. It made everything so much easier on the court. This is a team first sort of player - One who takes pride in little details that help his team mates. Very valuable. If only he can stay healthy.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

i love that Spo has finally changed up his play book to incorporate a faster offense. It's like he finally figured out something that we all knew all along we should do. The main thing is he finally caught on :) :o

I love the way Wade has been playing also. 8 assists here and 3rd in shot attempts. He finally figured some sh*t out too.

Maybe we can get some consistency now.

I don't know what is it that you want from a player that is only on the court for 15mpg. He doesn't bitch about wanting the ball, he makes the smart plays, makes the game easier for his teammates (which they have publicly confirmed) and his passing at 6'10 is above average. You are focusing too much on stats.

You will never appreciate players like McRoberts, Shane Battier or back-in-the-day UD. There is only one ball, we have several players that demand to have the ball and are just getting used to sharing it. Now you want McRoberts to add to that list just to get a few more eye pleasing stats? I can also guarantee you that MCBob's 2K rating is last on his mind.

I will give you that he needs to shoot it more when he is open to get that confidence back up. I think he can be a 38% 3pt with this team and help the team even more.
