No real backup pg is killing us pretty much all year. Dipo is not one either is Fournier. Bazx sucks. And Watson is.....? We need a legit 1 to spell Payton asap. I think our record would be better for sure.

Plus there was no way we would win this one. Spurs looked to be cruising all game until they needed a bucket while Orlando was playing at full intensity and ran out of steam.

Aaron is our best chance to be developed into a true franchise player. With him and Porzingis (boy, how wrong I was about that kid), I wouldn't have problem keeping Vučević. Oladipo and Elfrid better improve their jumpshot to respective level or might find themselves a part of the package to bring superior talent to Orlando.

I think it's the case. I'm leaning more and more to trading at least one of them. Preferably Elf. PG who can shoot next to having a vision would thrive in our system. Good defense would be a plus of course. Just look what Patty Mills did yesterday. I think Mike Conley would do just fine here and as far as I can remember he's gonna be an FA this summer.

I see Dipo as our super 6th man. New PG/Hezonja/Gordon/?/Vucevic. Don't know who might fill the void at PF. But I'm sure Hennigan could bring someone valuable with some combination from the package of Elf/Harris/Nicholson/Frye/Napier/picks.

Pretty much. I wouldn't tab anyone as untouchable, but Aaron is aproaching that status. Without Porzingis or Ibaka in lineup, Vučević can/should be traded too, IMO. I still root for DMC trade, a frontcourt with DMC and Aaron can work with a lot of PF's, Tobias included.

WCS would fit perfectly next to Aaron and Vučević too, if his jumpshot percentage on 15ft+ can still be respectable with higher usage.

I'd rather search for someone like Millsap (damn, I wanted him so bad). Workhorse who's not only an enforcer inside, but also can step out and shoot a 3 if needed. But they're so hard to find. Among young players I can think only about a few. Portis, Turner, T. Jones, Morris.

I think he brought Mario in so that the floor would spread for Dipo.

Regardless, I've said it before, we don't really have any player who can carry the load for us defensively. Someone who can bail us out. Until we find that one guy, I don't think the wins would come pouring in.

I think Eld would play much better with Mario at the two next to him, a true shooter who would give elf more space to get to the basket. Id like to see Elf/Mario/Harris/AG/Vuc lineup out there for some minutes. Bring fournier and dipo off the bench with Frye and Smith

I think the game has definitively changed and we cannot afford to have a non-shooter on the floor, at all, let alone a guard. Prime Ray Allen and Peja Stojaković wouldn't change the fact that Elf destroys our spacing in pace and space era.

Honestly I dont even think victor had a bad game last night, put a foul on a couple of those missed shots(Which was non call) he was at about 50%. In my opinion victor and AG are the only guys out there hustling.
Payton gets praised while guys leave him wide open cause they know he cant shoot. Meanwhile leaving a defender out there to double team. I think that is definitively hurting us.
I also wanted to mention I dont wanna see elf gone. I believe this all can be worked out. We need a Defensive PF.

Is it possible we almost had a chance because of Oladipo and the reason we lost by 15 was also Oladipo? Because that is how it felt.

Sent from the lottery.

What was with Fournier last night. He was passing that rock airborne to noone on half of the possessions, he also got torched on the defensive end. I love what Aaron brings, but he needs to cut back on those off the dribble going nowhere jumpers. It makes me cringe. We need to put him in positions where he can use his lenght and quickness and not force the issue. Mario sucked offensively (ISO against Boban, and you shoot the contesed 3???), but i thought his defense on Simmons and Kawhi was exceptional. Once he gains some strenght, i think he will be very good defender against SF. Not sure if he will be ever suited chasing Smart types around the screens or defending a bunch of pick and rolls. I think he will be SF for most of his career.

Oladipo was exceptional in the 3rd quarter, yeah he forced the issue in 4th, but we have noone beside him and occasionaly Elf who can get separtion off the dribble on a consistent basis. I feel most of our guys would look a lot better next to a above average PG. And i am not talking about Chris Paul types. I think someone like Teague or Kemba might be a big upgrade for us. I would love Payton to be that guy, but i feel you either have to be a really good shooter at the PG spot or be incredibly fast, and he is neither unfortunately. Will he get there? Possibly, but that is a long-shot in my opinion. I feel like we need to package him, Tobias and Vuc, and maybe some first rounder to get a All-Star talent when opportunity presents itself.

Whenever an opposing PG lit us up with Nelson, there would be hate threads all over the place. Pretty quiet around here even though PGs are destroying us all season.

If atl move halford I think we could go after millsap

Sometimes players have slow starts after signing a big contract because they are pressing. But we're past the halfway point of the season now, and he's averaging 13.6 ppg, down 3.5 ppg from last season. You could blame it on the system, but at $16 million this season the presumption is that your talent and drive will thrive in any system and result in Class A production. Maybe he bounces back next season. But if Hennigan were given truth serum, I'd have to think he would say he's disappointed in the investment at this point. Hennigan gave him $4.7 million more than Vucevic, the second-highest paid player on the team. This can't be what he envisioned.

Harris has always been mediocre. I don't think he ever becomes anything better than 6th man.

And yeah, our guards get torched every night forcing Vuc to defend drives(which he doesn't do well). We have a big problem here.
