Porter and a top protected pick for Gallo and then go after Horford?

Wall/Beal/Gallo/Hordford/Gortat

not a terrible plan b i guess

If they were going to play like they did last year, I'd go for that. But if the plan is to continue the "pace and space" offense then Horford at PF doesn't get us closer to that IMO.

What is Denver's motivation to trade Gallo for Porter?

well lets be real they aren't going to lure any great free agents and desperately need to tank soon--they need to firesale and getting a young prospect like Porter and a 1st from us would help kickstart the rebuild

I think he does actually, because he has developed range even out to 3 point land - and he's a really good player who can fit with any offense. The only thing I'd worry about with Horford is his age - and his production has gone down a little bit this season. Plus, his plan gets Gallo - who can be one of the most prolific 3 point shooters in the NBA.

I like Dark's plan there - though I question whether it can be done within the cap, and depth would be something that would have to be dealt with. Gallo's got a big contract, and I think we'd have to trade Beal to be able to fit Gallo and Horford.

Keep in mind that Denver's GM is a Grunfeld disciple. :D They are 19-30, so getting younger might be a motivation.

Well if Denver accepted the deal you could include filler like Hump and Gooden. Which would allow us to have money for both players.

The idea of 25 a year for Horford is kind of stomach churning though. It would not shock me to see his production fall off.

It's why I kept talking about Pau Gasol earlier. Good production and the fact that he's probably favoring money over years gives us more flexibility and hope that down the road a big time star might be available.

But the Gallo trade would use up some of our cap space for the 16/17 season - and I don't think it would leave enough to sign Horford.

His salary would replace the salary of players already under contract for next year with us

Hump and Gooden as filler. Both are under contract next year. Maybe Gooden has a team option or something I don't know. Main thing is if Denver was serious about a rebuild then picking up those contracts wouldn't be a problem.

To the best of my knowledge, Gooden was signed to a one year deal, and Hump has a team option for next year.

I think its time to include Thomas in deals, he signed an extension with FCB It looks like he did that so he can come in the year after next and get more money after the cap goes up...... Trade him. He has around the value of a late first, **** it trade him. Him and a 2017 first is a pretty nice asset package.

We have commodities to trade and were not in a position to win a title. I really hope we see this and go for franchise changing type players.

Either through the draft (which EG will never do) or Durant, Cousins (trade), Griffen (trade), DeRozen, Whiteside.

Beal, Oubre, Porter, Nene(expiring), all have currency

Hump has a team options, and would likely be released. Gooden's got nothing, I believe. They may end up re-signing for the veteran minimum after the Wiz use their free agent money. (This is all assuming the Wiz actually use their cap money.)

Edit - apologies, J-Ves beat me to it.

Beal and Thomas ( maybe a future pick but I don't think its needed, beal is valuable to them.)
For
Noel and Covington
Then go and make some other deals, move nene,
maybe to denver
NENE and a 2017 first unprotected, and a second for Hickson, Harris/barton and Foye, then cut foye. or we can toss in some extra stuff and we can get both barton and harris
then we see what we got, and consider trading nene at that point. because you can. with noel on the team.
I've just changed my mind over the last little bit, I think its time to move beal and get what we can out of him.
Noel and Covington are nice young cheap players for us, NENE to denver makes sense, and I would love to have harris or Barton! either one would be great! or both if they ant to keep foye maybe we toss in a little extra for both Barton and Harris. we would need to cut some people like gooden, blair and eddie.

gotcha

so the question is if we'd still be able to afford horford after an acquisition of gallo for porter and expirings
