Oladipo or Fournier

Magic fans:

We must accept that one of these two will not be a Magician next year.

As disappointing as Dipo has been, it is not even close. He is better defender, better athlete and has more untaped potential.

Neither of them are playing like they should. However I think Fournier may be inherently selfish and biased as a passer, whereas it can probably be coached out of Oladipo. Dipo really needs to improve his spot up game because the ball should not be in his hands as much as it is. He's just a terrible decision maker.

They can definitely keep both going into next season.

Dipo, hands down. Hands so far down, that it could be considered a lewd act.

I voted for VO as well.

He hasn't been very consistent but he brings more to the table than EF.

Both players are frustrating though.

I strongly disagree. In a polite way.

The economics of keeping both are for me unplausible. Orlando has a glut of wings and a need to upgrade at PF. I am sorry to disappoint you, but I project one of these players will not be in Magic blue come next season.

Anyhow: the question asks you to rank them as your favorite. What is your a vs. b player ?

Well, whereas this is not a poll choice, it has some merit for consideration. If Hezonja is the future of SG, then trading both is not insane.

My brain is telling me neither but my heart says keep dipo to see if he can turn his shot around and draw fouls more consistently. Fournier can't leave fast enough, to me hezonja is ready to take his minutes like right now.

Fournier is a better fit. But potentially, Ola will be a better two way player.

Fournier is the better fit next to Payton, but Oladipo is the better fit next to 95% of the other point guards in this league. Payton sure as hell isn't going to convince me to get rid of Oladipo because of Payton's terrible shot. It'd be much easier to replace Payton than Oladipo.

Keep Oladipo. He will be a great asset long term, because we can use him as our lock down defender who is first off the bench once Mario starts at sg. Dipo can guard pg and sg, he just needs to defer a bit more offensively and accept his role and try to be the best defensive guard in the NBA.

The interesting thing here is Fournier is younger and has played 1300 less minutes in his career than Oladipo.

Looks like either would give you somewhere around 15-17ppg in 36 minutes, Oladipo will get a couple more boards and maybe an extra assist, both are producing the same amount of steals although Fournier steal more per minute.

Oladipo has the potential and physical skills to be a better player while Fournier has the potential and mental skills to be a better player.

Factor in Mario and you have to make some assumptions. Assuming Mario the scorer becomes our guy, can you convince Oladipo to be the 6th man, take a smaller contract, and be happy? Do we have use for Fournier as a 6th man to come in and provide shooting?

Question: Would you trade Dipo for Milsap or another top flight PF?
