Didn't he get the memo? This team is too stupid to get assists. #HornacekExcusers

It's fine for you to think he is smart. He did have 5 and 6 assists in 2 of the last 4 games. But lets not all start jerking each other off yet.

This team has been competitive in some first half's recently and beat Toronto the first time on the road. It will be interesting to see how the second half plays out.

I don't think he's necessarily smart, but I don't believe our team is a bunch of morons somehow explaining the lack of improvement across the board under Jeff. It's an excuse that can't be backed up by anything other than assumption and therefore is infallible. If that type of excuse held, a coach could never be fired. That said, Jeff actually called Archie the smartest player on the team. Yet, he never played until now, and here we see real growth with a 12 assist game.

He's really coming along now.

Archie is a keeper, I was skeptical for a while but I'd definitely take this production on a cheap rookie deal over an overpaid Knight. He's even a better PG

Whoa there..even Knight had a game or two with 10+ assist, but let's not get carried away

The difference is... Knight passes and gets assists like Marbury and Iverson did. Pass it as last resort most of the times.
Archie dribbles down.. Passes immediately or rotates it to the open man even with 20 seconds left on the clock... He facilitates... Doesnt hold the ball for either a shot or a last resort assist.

Even that Mavericks game.. I rewatched that and he contested almost every shot whom ever he was guarding. His quickness and length is an asset.

yeah, but tonight he's being special.
i cant even count how many times lowry/joseph were left in a no-man's land because of goodwin.
he's even showing patience on pump fakes.

Goodwin's dumber plays are due to him being young. Not everyone can be Booker.. Who plays like he is 25 most of the time. We have to remember Archie was so raw coming out of college... He nominated prematurely.

I'll have to take your word on that one... 'twas 2 years before I was born, and 10 years before my first Suns game. :)

I don't know if he had a more pure shooting stroke, but he did win ROY and make the all star game as a rookie....with close to a 60% true shooting percentage, which he exceeded in his next couple of years. I didn't watch him much as I was too young though.

Averaged 24 pts, 6 boards, 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals as rookie....PER over 22 whatever that's worth.

Fantastic game for the Suns backcourt. 27 pts and 5 rbs for Booker. 18 pts and 12 ast for Goodwin. Markieff with superstar numbers tonight of 30 pts, 11 rbs, and 6 ast. Pretty obvious statement to Hornacek tonight by Markieff. Just so disappointing that Warren is out for the year because he should be out there instead of Tucker who is awful. Yes he sucks. Trade Tucker for something and pick up another small forward somehow and play a young guy because it is so hard to watch Tucker play now.

Enjoyable game.

Glad McDonough was smart enough to not give away a talent like Markieff for nothing as some fans wanted.

Yes, he should fetch more value in a trade if he keeps this up, and perhaps if he keeps it up, we keep him, but I doubt the vast majority of fans would be game for that, so hopefully we get more value.

Maybe we can trade Watson for Mitchell at the deadline. That sure insure us finishing below the Wolves.

How does Mitchell still have a job?

I can understand why they whacked Hornacek at this time. If you checked out the stands they were empty on the top deck and half empty on the lower deck. I expect they have surveyed the season ticket holders and are not getting many takers for next year. They are just trying to give some hope for next season. I also checked out the Lakers/ Wolves game and the Laker stands appear to be full. They obviously have a much better fan base that stays loyal through thick and thin.

The Suns post game showed some of Watson's press conference and he said Goodwin is unlike any other player in the league. He then compared Goodwin to Gary Payton. No joke. He said Goodwin has a bright future. Firing Hornacek might end up being the best thing that happens to Goodwin's career. A lot of fans on here said they did not care if Goodwin was traded as a throw-in to any trade. Now look at the strides he has made already finally getting some real playing time. He looks like he could turn into an awesome player.
