Guess what? Watson is forced to play Goodwin because of those same injuries. Would he have played him as much with Bledsoe, Knight and Price healthy? Likely not. I mean that is a ridiculous post, because the EXACT same circumstances exist.

Whatever. I watched the clip and interpreted it the way I did. I do not remember Hornacek ever having such high praise for Goodwin.

Watson said he was wiry strong like Payton... and could play the 1, 2, or 3... I don't think he stretched it much further... but clearly, he has approached Goodwin with supportive confidence.... much like his man crush on MoBro. Sometimes a fannypat is more effective than a swift kick.

Well with specifics then my earlier comments were over the top so I apologize for that to who I directed those at, and I hope it works. Nothing would make me happier (well I guess I can think of a few things....oh, on further thought, quite a few things) than Goodwin becoming a solid productive player game in, game out.

Remember when everyone wanted Frank Kaminsky over Booker? That would've been a nightmare. Remember this stuff for when we draft this year guys haha. Although hopefully there is no debate about who we should pick this year as Simmons will be the consensus (I can dream).

Lol. Watson is a genius. Gets Markieff to buy in by asking him to lead the team. Stark contrast from Jeff, who wanted the players to sort out who was the leader. Watson tells them their roles. If Kieff keeps it up will anybody forgive him? I'm not sure I could at this point. But it would be nice to be able to get something good for him (please draft picks or please Terrence Jones).

The thing is that this has been going on for so long that I don't even care anymore at this point. If he buys in and plays well again, so be it.

We did hear a lot from the players saying I don't know what I'm supposed to do ... I believe meaning their role. Horny obviously was looking for rotations that could get it done. Sounds like Watson has defined their roles.

Funny but for Watson the only numbers that he said mattered where win-losses. It will be interesting to see how the team responds once the puppy love phase wears off.

Man Earl Watson is one very eloquent speaker. I like the guy already.

Made a very interesting comment in the postgame presser. "... Gotta get Len (and Tyson) going..But our bigs arent used to playing at the offensive end."

Subtle but very telling comment there.. probably directed mostly towards Knight about him (and others) not making a big enough effort to share the ball around, instead of hogging it and taking bad shots.

I like this guy already.

It seems like Horny had lost the team and the team suffered because of it.. which probably contributed to markieff wanting about after alreayd being annoyed with Marcus being traded.

Ive been watching Markieff and since the start of the season he seems to be a good teammate. Cheering teammates, high fiving in timeouts, and not once did he complain about being in the doghouse or when he racked up DNP-CD's. Markieff has stated that he wants to play here and win with this group of guys.

Im willing to let him start over on a clean slate, and blame the situation on Hornacek mismanaging the players and being poor at communicating.

Markieff is too talented to be let go for nothing.

Watson boosting young player's egos and disgruntled vets' trade value in one foul swoop, love it.

I still think he's only keeping the seat warm for Luke Walton, they'll want to make another splash like they did with Hornacek.

Markieff has been dogging it
its why he should have been traded months ago - like middle of December for a box of cracker jacks and a yo-yo
worthless

A couple more 30 point games and that cracker jack trade you proposed is going to look really silly.

I don't think Kieffs play has hampered his trade value one damn bit
Teams around the league know he's dogging it

My theory - two reasons Kieff hasn't been traded:

1) the others teams know he is dogging it so why would they want to bring a bleeping loser like him on their roster. Other teams also know his value and realize if traded, he would be back to being the player he was last year

2) Sarver is an idiot and is wanting "value" not realizing their is value in dumping a loser like Markieff helps the team

Yep. I think the thing that hurts his trade value is not his play, but his willingness to quit on his team. The only way to increase his trade value is to put that in the distant memory. If Watson can get his attitude right now, Kieff can get the legal stuff behind him, and be productive for a while, it might be better. That means no trade soon.

I'd pick Ingram over him and wouldn't even sweat it. Simmons hasn't shown that he is the consensus #1

Didn't Jeff ask both Morris to take on a leadership role last season? They responded with a large amount of techs and a felony assault case. Oh, and yelling at the coach on national tv. Jeff was positive with Morris up until it was obvious that Morris was dogging it.

Yeah Simmons and Ingram are closer than you think. I think I might give the nod to Simmons just because of the potential he has to operate at the 4, with the league going small... And dominating matchups.

Ingram is more of a traditional 3, in the Durant mould.

Both are awesome prospects.

And from memory, it was a very small minority of people who wanted Kaminsky at 13....

Kaminsky is doing better than expected compared to other rookies.... But he is 3-4 years older (3-4 years more to improve and polish his game) than Booker/Turner/Winslow etc.... Which makes Charlotte look like fools.
