How about maybe... I dont know, he played a brilliant game of basketball to help the team win?

In Kieff's situation, It would e pretty hard to have your own personalt agenda of "dogging it" for 4 months of the season when youre surrounded in a team environment 24/7, and your performance affects the whole team.

This whole Kieff fiasco might be just him having a bad start to the year. It doesnt help that our guards never pass the ball, which doesnt help the rhythm for a player trying to get going on offence..

Believe you me - the Kieff from last night was the Kieff I had hoped would show up from Day 1 just to show the world that the Suns didn't need to sign Aldridge that a 26 year old player who got better every year could do some of what Aldridge did (Morris can be an 18/8 guy in this league). But from my impressions, Kieff chose to not do that. He has played poorly and his effort has been worse. I am not buying " Kieff is back" over one game. I am going by the first 45 games.

No, I'm pretty confident that Markieff will continue at or exceeding 30/10/5 on 65% shooting night in and night out and Archie will be a double double machine.

With Markieff now our go-to player and TJ out for the season, it's reaaaally hard to guess what the hell we're going to do at the deadline. The only expirings on our roster are Leuer and Mirza - so if we want to get something for them, it's gotta be now. If you're contending for a championship, Keef and Tucker (and perhaps Chandler or Knight) are your targets. But what do we want??

You might think draft picks. But we have plenty. And after we add a top-7 pick, we'll have plenty of young talent on the roster as well. Add in Earl's desire to create a family atmosphere, it raises the question of whether we have much interest in a meaningful trade of any kind.

In any case, this is leverage. I have no idea what we'll do.

Phoenix is not trading Devin Booker and Markieff Morris for a pick that is best case #4 in 2016 or worst case #20 in 2017. Your estimation of what it would take for Phoenix to consider trading Devin Booker is far far off.

I think you massively overrate Booker. He's a good young piece, sure... but I posted that on the T&T board and PHX fans were good with it. Also if you're assigning positive value to Kieff, you're wrong about that. He's clearly a negative at this point. PHX gets addition by subtraction without question, and Patterson adds pretty much what Kieff does but cheaper.

Speechless.

Not only does this Philly fan think this is a good trade for Phoenix he thinks Suns fans are good with it.

In his other proposals he suggests we would trade Booker, Waren and out unprotected pick for Okafor.

Yeah, that trade offer is extremely trollish.

Probably try to trade them one at a time for late firsts, and/or young players not getting an opportunity on good teams with veteran depth that are in the hunt. Then they just keep building that war chest of picks and young players until McD thinks he can pull off something like they did in Boston in 2007. We don't have that Al Jefferson type player to include in such a deal that they used to get Kieff, but they did trade the 5th pick for Ray Allen. If Sarver is adamant on making the playoffs next year (which I'm sure is the case, as much as most of us would rather focus on rebuild), then if we end up with the 5th pick or so (and don't particularly like anyone in that range), we could flip that for a player to add to the core. Too bad Warren got injured. Including him and some other assets (maybe our pick, Knight, Archie) for Hayward (if he is indeed somewhat on the block due to Utah's impending cap issues), then that might be the type of deal he'd swing for.

I think Boston might eventually swing hard for Hayward too given the connection with Stevens having coached him at Butler.

The only reason I'm responding is because I never said Warren, Booker, and your 1st for Okafor was a good deal. I actually think that's awful for you guys. My deal was the Laker pick back to you guys with Pat Pat for Booker and Kieff. Nothing trollish at all. However, on the other hand we have Donald_Trade...

In the game. Kief was evidently putting a lot more effort. He was communicating with the guards more. His 3 dunks were intense.
Compared to previous games where he looked flat footed and with no intensity.

Watching the game. It was obvious. He did have a good shooting night. But the effort was much higher.

That trade is just as BAD. You posted that the Lakers pick is worth more than Booker.

This is a smart 76ers fan trying to get rid of this Lakers pick.

Maybe he just got tired of dogging it. It can't be a very interesting way to play. Then the coaching change comes, Watson comes to him and says we want to feature you, and Kieffs says, "Ok, I guess I made my point."

If Kieff continues to stud up, we can move him in the off-season, there is definitely no rush. Let us make a trade for the from guy last night, not the guy from last week; that may just have to wait past the trade deadline.

I am not being emotional or unreasonable. I am going off what I saw this summer when he demanded a trade, than didn't show up to train with teammates and basically played like he didn't give a damn for 45 games

You are going off one game where he wanted to stick it to Hornacek.

Where was Keiff back in the game against Detroit the first week of the year? That is my memory of Markieff Morris. He was dogging it. Fouling every play, not hustling, can't even dunk a basketball. Last night was fools gold and if believes it wil lchange, they are mistaken. Markieff Morris showed his true colors the first 45 games of this season.

Yes I am going after the last game. How good is a player that wants to play? You think NBA teams didn't take notice, but when it comes time to negotiate they will try to use his past performances to justify their lowball offer; McD can negate that after Kieff puts up many more games like he did last night. Buy low sell high.....he isn't high yet, but last game went a long way to prove his value. So what, he punked out and shut it down, very unprofessional without a doubt, but at the end of the day, he can ball and help you win. Ask Jeff how important winning is. Bad attitude and all, he can play.

Watson seems like a no BS players coach that has a touch of genuine concern for player development as people too. He has no ties here, other than thanks for the opportunity.

The big plan is in place. I find it curious that Watson has joined up with RPaul. So I'll crystal-ball this...

the leBron empire will come up short once again. Change will be needed. Watson has already been informed he has a place in Cleve if he wants. Paul is LeBron's conduit that bends around the tampering rules. Watson accepts the head coach job in Clevelend. Healthy Bledsoe comes back in June. He and Morris are traded for Love. Two more clients crawl under the Klutch umbrella. Sarver gets a big splashy signing to booster ticket sales. We miss out on Simmons.... take KDunn. D'Ant is offered a 3 yr deal, with Nash as his assistant to tutor Dunn and Goodwin (Yes, I said Goodwin)

Its one big damn Suns-Love-Fest in the valley. Maximum preseason Buzz achieved.

Damn!! Not bad :o Dunn is 22.......

Dunn
Booker
Love

hmmm.... Don't like Love age though.

Know what....Love isn't that old, lol, omg, I can't believe I keep harping on age when I just realized last night that I can still dunk at 47 years old and I am 5ft '11.

I didn't realize that Toronto had the Knicks 2016 pick. NY owes them the less favorable between them and Denver, so probably a lottery pick.

- Mirza/Tucker for PatPat/Filler(1.5mil)/NY first

I like that trade a lot.

They probably wouldn't even do that deal if it was for Kieff instead of Mirza. MAYBE they counteroffer with their own pick.

Just checked this thread and realized you had already posted essentially the same thing I just did in the Toronto thread. Great and cynical minds think alike.

Definitely an interesting take on what is going on behind the scenes. The weird part is that it all makes sense.

I don't know, Mirza is an upgrade on PatPat and he could fit into their salary structure next year as a FA. Tucker can guard Lebron and shoot, which is why they spent $60 million on Carroll - they obviously value wing defense.

I really think that trade could help them make the finals this year. This draft seems pretty weak and that pick is likely to be 10-14ish. I don't know if they can draft a guy there that will help them in the next 2-3 years before their windows closes.

Ya that pick is off-limits unless an impact youngish player is coming back (tenth now, prolly stay around there +/- 2 slots or so). Kieff's value is too low and PJ is too old to be part of a future. I can see Mirza/PJ bringing back one of our non-NYK picks (either ours or the LAC in 2017), but not a lotto pick. Maybe we add one of our worse prospects like Norman Powell or something
