Kemba done goofed. Never shoulda let Lin have the chance to play without him.... watch him rush back ASAP to protect his spot.

Lin has to be used as a PG.

I don't think he should replace Kemba but I've been lobbying for more minutes for him as a pg all season :)

So instead of Kemba playing the entire 1st and 3rd, how about have Lin relieve him at the 2-3 min mark as the team's pg. We have enough depth now that those 2 don't need to be on the court together except down the stretch perhaps.

Been saying forever Lin is the only true PG on this team. Kemba as the best scorer/shooter should be the SG, since his PG instincts are woeful, its just his height is such a HUGE hurdle to overcome on defense if he plays there.

If Lin can consistently check SGs then when he shares time with Kemba HE needs to be the PG. Regardless with MKG back things are gonna be interesting, i wonder how he'll play with Lin and if he plays well with Lin (and plays whatever with Kemba) i think that'll truly force Cliffy to change things up with the offense. At this point Lin and Batum shouldnt play more than 26-28 mins a game for now until they right, with MKG that'll relieve alot of pressure in regards to soaking up mins.

Edit: PJ, Roberts, and Daniels kiss your mins good bye unless you SHOW something more soon.

Kemba is the starter and when he has those games where he hits his jumpers and driving layups, he is a force to be reckoned with.

But man I love Lin's unselfish style of play, when he pushes the ball and looks for the assist. I just think this style is healthier for the team.

I was saying on another thread:

I'd rather give the keys to Brian Roberts but fortunately for us we have a better PG in Jeremy Lin. I hope a team do entertain a Kemba trade this deadline. Like I posted in the game thread, now is the best time to put him on the trade block while he's at a high.

I think he would be very good being the scorer off the bench, ala Jack, Crawford, Mills, Terry, Harden, Mo Will, Delk, Dixon, NVE, V. Johnson, T. Best, L. Williams, I. Thomas before this year etc.

Of course, to do that, a team would need capable scorers at other positions, especially a big.

"nba replay"

I like the fact that Lin only played 32 mins. It's gonna be 3 games in four nights.

Those are ads. It should say "uploading", the game isn't up yet. Probably in 2-3 hours?

I won't lie, I was not expecting Lin to have a good game tonight cus of his gimpy ankle. Good thing I was wrong. If the Cavs really slept on Lin and gave him that much room to play with.. guess they have really short memories. A healthy Lin has burned the Cavs in the past, got a triple double off the bench with the Rockets.

That's why MJ called the Lin signing as the biggest offseason acquisition. Lin's not perfect, but he's a good point guard. He'll get a lot more out of Frank Kaminsky, Zeller, MKG, etc. If you were a GM, Lin would be a good way to raise the value of his teammates. Case in point, guys like Landry Fields, Steve Novak, etc. got paid after playing with Lin...only to fall off the face of the planet because they weren't playing with Lin anymore.

Kemba looks for his own shot first. He is who he is. He'll get better overall, because he's a young player, but his instincts and talents are fairly set. He's not going to become an pass-first point guard. It's really a question of whether you want to build an entire team around Kemba or not. Will a Kemba-centric team look like a contender? Will that beat the top teams?

If not, trading Kemba, whose stock must be pretty high, probably would get you a really good player who might help the team more.

I'm sure you would be able to get assets for Kemba, but I'm not sure whether he's the type of player team would line-up to get a chance to acquire in a trade...what I'm saying is that I don't think team would give up very good assets for Kemba because he has glaring deficiencies in his game.

Kemba is really a 5'11 Shooting guard and many team would find him very unattractive....He;s not going to make his teammates better or even a team better since history has shown us that the Hornets have always played better when Kemba was out injured...remember Mo Williams of last year?.

Kemba will gets you point tho, so if you're a team that has players in other position than PG that can assist, than he may be worth it to bring in Kemba...Kemba should also learn to play off the ball a bit..that would make him a better player if he wants to continue to shoot 20 time a game...Let someone else facilitate.

Can anybody explain why doesn't cliff let Lin play PG and Kenna be the SG when they share the floor? Just switch on the defensive end of the floor. Isn't this like the obvious thing to do?

we aren't going to trade kemba.

and i still dont get the PG/SG argument, Lin handles the ball plenty and Kemba's passing stats are on par with most other "PG"s

Not to take away anything from Lin's amazing game, but just thought we should put it in perspective.

Kemba Walker has had 13 games in his Hornets career with 24+ points and 8+ assists in the same game. 5 of those 13 he did on less FGA than Lin had last night. In all 13 he had less than 5 turnovers. 8 of the 13 resulted in wins.

Lin was fantastic last night. Kemba is also fantastic at times. Lets enjoy the fact that this team has two really good point guards.

Mo Williams even had two such fantastic games last year in his limited time as starting pg.

The only adjustment I would suggest regarding Kemba and Lin is to have Lin handle the ball more early in the game and early in the clock and have Kemba handle the ball more late in the game and late in the clock. We can take advantage of both players' strengths better this way.

Lin has always been risky with the ball. I got chastised for putting Kemba's 52 point performance "in perspective".
