Re: Kings @ Nets | Feb 5, 2016
I hate to say it but it's the truth, being a fan of a team with drama etc IS as entertaining as watching a functional first round and out team, and if we still are able to re sign Rondo it might be better for the long term viability to get another top 10
The only part that is worse is the actual games but even I don't watch much anymore

No, they aren't. And as I'm saying even Vlade isn't blameless depending on your outlook. It's time to be done and over it. Karl changes his style to fit the team in spurts and then smacks right back into the swing of failure. Whether it's the players, coach, GM, whatever, blaming energy and effort when there are clear misuses going on beyond that makes it irrelevant. Time to move on.

Aside from the reputation the organization has for firing coaches, another factor for keeping Karl in place could be to keep this stealth tank and get after another prime top 5/6 pick. Just sayin. Motivations abound

I'm curious in your opinion where does Vlade's blame lie?

Kind of relieving having no expectations now.

IMO not everyone simultaneously can be blamed. Any person could choose to look at it in one of two ways: a) George Karl isn't using the players he has correctly, or b) Vlade didn't bring in the types of players Karl needs to effectively run his system. If you need that to go any further look up that thread where quite a debate was had right before the season started about the starting lineup. George Karl wanted to play smaller and run, Vlade drafted/signed 14 feet of big man, signed a true PG in Rondo, and a wing in Belinelli that isn't really a multi-positional player that excels defensively or athletically.
My personal opinion is that if Karl refuses to adjust, he has to go. The sooner the better for all involved. He doesn't need to have his legacy tarnished as much as this team doesn't need to have their confidence destroyed. Sometimes the pieces don't fit, it's just the way it is.

That's the problem with Karls tank though, sometimes it finds traction out of sheer embarrassment from the players. Them getting crushed so bad that they play at an unrealistic energy level isn't the answer. And if it happens here and there it might just keep them in that magic slot between 10 and 14.

Vlade's problem as you state actually falls on Vivek hiring a coach before GM. Having missed out on Beverley and Matthews shows me Vlade at least attempted to find Karl players.

Looks like Karl may be axed tonight or tomorrow according to CMD. Bruski says people are bracing for it. Hmmmmm. Kings on the hook for so much dead money for ex coaches

I wonder if a guy like David Blatt would be interested in coaching the Kings?

Nah let's give Corliss a shot, recoup and revamp very patiently until the off season. Could have many interested parties if the money is right.

Corliss as interim coach for the rest of the season? Meh. I wouldn't be oppose for Big Nasty at the helm but he doesn't really have any real coaching experience other than assistant coaching exp with the Kings for the past 3 years.

Not in relation to the team Karl has, although that is the issue above all else really surrounding the organization as a whole.Vlade had ample opportunity to bring in and re-shape the team to Karls liking. Personally, I'm glad he didn't but that's another story.
Matthews and Beverley are NOT Karl players IMO. They would bring more individual defense but you know who the "Karl" player was? Ty Lawson. I'm starting to believe he was indeed pushing for that. I'm so glad that Vlade decided against it if true.
Here's likely Karls team:
PG: Lawson
SG: Collison
SF: Brewer
PF: Gay
C: Cousins
Here's Vlades:
PG: Beverley
SG: Matthews
SF: Gay
PF: WCS
C: Cousins
I can't even imagine how awesome defensively Vlades team would have been with the right coach.

And college. Honestly though, it won't take rocket science to make more sense of what this team is doing. Yes, there are some personnel moves that need to be made, but ditching the dribble drive is a sure fire way to see instant improvement.
