Will Kanter be traded before 2016/2017 season?

Post#1 » by Blazers20 » Sun Feb 7, 2016 4:18 pm

Is Kanter part of OKC future or a regretful signing?

I sure hope he gets traded. I like to believe the only reason Presti signed him to that contract is because he had no immediate backup for him. But we don't need him and I think some team that lost out on a FA will like him enough to trade for him.

He won't be traded this season. He has to agree to a move and I don't see him leaving a contender right now.

I think offseason yes, he's not a regretful signing, but I think they move him to free $$ to keep Adams.

I think it's a 40/60 chance he is moved this off season and a certainty that he is moved within the next two.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

He ain't good on D but does score. His $$ hit means they won't get squat for him so.. if they can't do better than flip him for 'whatever" probably he stays.

That's likely what they do, flip him for a backup. Adams is the guy they want to keep.

I think Kanter ultimately grows into a player that isn't a net negative by the beginning of the next season (staff will help Kanter grow by leaps and bounds on defense this offseason). With that being said, I think he will earn his contract. His effort is there, his defense and shown improvement (just my eye test) however small. Worst comes to worst, we flip him for a solid back-up big and a pick, in my opinion.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... Well, the point is you can't get fooled again.

It's that simple.

That was about 2 1/2 years ago.

Don't drag me into this again. :)

I was always harsher on Kanter than other Jazz fans. I think there are still some who see value in his game.

Insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting different results.

There's a choice to be made, you want Kanter, or Adams? Because they won't be able to pay both what they will get.

I'm just saying we should come back and evaluate his value again this offseason. Let's see how much an improvement on the defensive end he's made from beginning to end and decide if it will continue to trend upward. If he starts playing even just decent defense, I mean, I think I'd trade him anyway and sell high and get a true rim-protecting C such as Gobert.
Spoiler:
That was a joke!

Anyways, just saying, either way, we are going to trade him and keep Adams after 2 years unless Adams is demanding a **** ton of money.

Which is what spearsy said. Really, the odds of him being even average defensively are as bad as Dion being a top 10 SG.

I like Dion's odds a little bit better, LMAO. By the way, Bondom, go check out my post in the Regular Season thread. I noticed Ibaka is at the lowest USG% of his career. What's up with that?
