Cam Newton is a Loser (joke, pathetic, weak, phoney)
Late 4th
1 score game...
Cam fumbles...
Ball is at his feet...
He looks down...
And decides...
"Nah, not worth going for"
Gives up in the superbowl... in a 1 possession game... with the ball at his feet...
I thought all the pre-game hype/controversy about Cam newton was just nonsense...
BUT I get it now...
Cam is entitled...
Loser mentality..
He doesn't care enough to lay it all out on the line...
Cam is one of my least favorite players in the NFL now... perhaps in all of sports now...
I hate seeing people not giving it their all... at anything, BUT, professional athletes? In the super bowl?
Inexcusable...
Cam Newton... you are now the worst athlete in the world right now...
You are now the definition of a spoiled, cry-baby, entitled, man-child who fills all the bad stereotypes about athletes.

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

The real Cam showed up. Celebrating and smiling when things are going well. Sulks when things aren't. Typical Cam. Wasn't at all surprised.

Re: Cam Newton is a Loser (joke, pathetic, weak, phoney)
Were Cam's actions "babyish" yes they were but at the same time Denver's Defense BALLED OUT, not to mention the Panthers were really missing a go-to WR. Their WR couldn't get separation from an ex girlfriend thats how badly they were being mauled, on top of the poor pass protection. I understand Cam was pissed as should anyone who loses the Super Bowl but he still should've handled himself better.

Re: Cam Newton is a Loser (joke, pathetic, weak, phoney)
National holiday for the hot take crowd today.
Newton throws himself into defenders constantly, it's one of the main things coaches rail on him about, so I very seriously doubt he chose not to dive on that ball for fear of physical punishment. More likely he either froze in the moment or, my guess, saw the ball bouncing around and thought he might have a better chance at scooping it up if he kept his feet for a second. He wasn't totally wrong, the ball did bounce backward again, but it was backward to the right (where he wasn't) instead of backwards to the left (where he was).
Newton handled himself fine yesterday, the only cry babies I see are the I-can-live-your-life-better-than-you-can crowd. He took a beating from an elite defense, congratulated Peyton Manning with a smile on his face (I can dredge up the photo if you need it, the AP chose to use the one from a split-second later where the smile had disappeared cuz narrative consistency) and then took questions from the media for a couple of minutes. He didn't throw any teammates under the bus, he didn't ridicule coaches, he didn't downplay the Broncos or their supporters.
His greatest sin was that he sat one thin sheet away from Chris Harris crowing about how they smacked him around and after hearing it he decided to stand up and walk out without making a scene or saying anything disparaging. To the hot take artists, a word of friendly advice: Find something in this world that makes you happy that doesn't involve relishing the failure of others or micromanaging how someone else deals with their disappointment.

Re: Cam Newton is a Loser (joke, pathetic, weak, phoney)
Cam Newton is the MVP of the NFL, and despite a poor game in the Super Bowl he's still the best football player on the planet. His post game interview was a little disappointing but I'm sure he'll learn from it. People are making way too much of it.

Cam needs to learn how to take losses better though. This is nothing new for him.
As far as how he played? Can we please give the Denver defense the credit they deserve? Brady got rocked as well.

I think most people would have a hard time calling him the best QB, much less the best football player.
That said, I don't know of anything he did yesterday to deserve criticism other than have a bad game. No one likes to lose or get hit over and over again. I thought he handled it reasonably well. Unfortunately for him, he does everything he can to put the spotlight on himself when things are going well, so people are going to that for him when things aren't. Anything that could be perceived as negative will be blown up.

That is what made it all the more frustrating.
Cam is bigger than most linebackers in the NFL.
He can shake off hits from linemen.
In the seasons biggest moment... He froze... he bailed... he lost...
they were 18-1 with that team. You cant go 18-1 and then make excuses... (even though they had basically bad WRS going into the year, then lost their only good on, and had a punt returner with stone hand as their #1)

Why? Who cares? It doesn't effect the results of games if he's mad or pretends it's ok.

Just meant for his personal brand/public perception, nothing more than that. He has to learn to give the politicians' response more often.
And I'm not sure if it was clear but I'm talking strictly post game.

They were 17-1, would have been 18-1 with a SB win. I get what you're saying but I can't agree that it's fair to armchair QB (literally in this case) this scenario. He didn't have the angle for recovery regardless, it's pretty clear the ball would been recovered by Denver even if he dove because it bounced away a split-second later. If Newton dives then, yeah, maybe he avoids some criticism. But in reality it wouldn't change the outcome so it's a pointless critique.
A better critique would be asking why he (and our OC Shula, to be fair) didn't run the read option more. That's something that actually could have made a difference in the game and we never really attempted it much outside of a couple drives. Focusing on the fumble recovery attempt as some sort of prism by which to view his courage, or leadership, or whatever, is hot taking at its worst.

He's super competitive, but he's gotta man up and take the heat. Look at Russell Wilson and Peyton Manning's post Super Bowl loss press conferences.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Dude is just immature. Russ may not have the same physical talent, but he's 10x the man cam is. A true leader. Peyton has always been a great ambassador for the game.

As far as the game goes i didn't think he clocked out like people are portraying. He went 15-1 and his offensive line stomped the **** out of the Seahawks and cardinals. Denvers two OLBs harrassdd the crap out of him like they did Brady and he isn't tom Brady nor does he have the WRs.
For your original post I think he handled the heat fine and better than manning. Peyton didn't congratulate Drew Bree's if I remember right when he lost the SB. After the critical Tracey porter INT he just left once clock hit zero. Cam newton went immediately to manning and congratulated him after losing to him.
What's more important sportsmenship or media? It's a no brainer to me. Its just the media racking on him for no reason

No he is not, Cam is just lucky that the Panthers have a better defense than the Pats.

Smaller point. How tall are you people? Short people like many of you guys, can have a ball directly at their feet, and bend down to get while in the middle of the action. Tall people moving in a certain direction, when placing a ball at their feet, have an awkward bend to go down and get. It would be akin to laying out for it, but being tall, you would over shoot it, and have the ball hit your dick. For some taller people, its an awkward bend.
