After the last two games, I say the Hawks are just destined to make a move. We gotta try and get Millsap or Horford.

Man I'd love Boston's Brooklyn pick. Just to have a chance at Simmons would make everything worth it. Ingram would be a nice consolidation prize, think he would be a great fit to.

What about...Blake to the Celtics, Harris/Lee/our first to the Clips, Brooklyn's pick and sullinger.

Lol no chance but damn it'd be nice to have a chance at simmons.
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...

Of course this is the same threat for Oladipo/Fournier with Hezonja's drafting.

If Orlando traded Harris and Frye for Milsap, this would mean he surrendered salary for no personal benefit.

I'd probably do the same deal but with Gasol instead of Gibson, though I'd prefer to trade Gibson if I had the choice.

I think Gibson makes sense for you guys. He's a reliable role player, and can really help anchor a defense. Can play center in small ball situations, and also helps cover some of Vucevic's short comings. He's also signed to a reasonable contract, so you don't have to worry about him leaving.

The Kings pick would give you a chance to find a Harris replacement in the summer.

So Orlando should trade a starter for three bench players and a pick that might not even exist.

Hmm.

That's an odd response considering I also mentioned Gasol, not to mention that Gibson's a starter. The Kings pick is looking probable, but if not, I'm sure there could be some sort of stipulation that would guarantee the Magic get either that pick or the Bulls pick.

It's tough to get a good return for Harris. Statistically, he's having just an okay season, but I think in the right situation he could put up some big numbers. Also, from the reports, it said that the Magic were looking for some veteran players. If that's the case, Gasol and Gibson fit that bill. If they were looking for younger guys, I'd happily trade Mirotic or Portis instead, though it'd be more challenging to match contracts.

The very, very last thing Orlando should be considering is trading a combo-forward for yet another SG.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with the offer. Not sure if that would be a deal I'd ultimately take, but I certainly don't think it's a bad offer, and actually think it's a good starting off point for discussions. I personally would try to find a way to get Portis, but that's just me. However, HomoSapien is right, the Magic are not going to get some crazy return for Tobias. He would be a big gamble for most teams, and I just don't see teams offering anything too crazy for him. However, a package like this Bulls one is probably similar to what we can expect, and I actually don't think there is anything too wrong with it.

Wanting a starter for Tobias is fine, but more than anything I want depth and leadership on this team. I honestly don't have an issue with running the same starting lineup that Skiles has used the past two games against the Hawks, especially if we have solid bench with vets that we can count on and that more importantly can help our young guys grow. Having a bench of Hinrich, Mario, Dunlevey, Gibson, and Smith doesn't sound too bad to me, or Gibson can even start at the 4, and Gordon can switch back and forth. Those guys have been around and have been in many big playoff series, those are the types of players I'm looking for. Again, it would be nice to have a player like Portis to develop in return for giving up a young starter, but I kind of like the Bulls as a trade partner.

Harris for Millsap, Fournier for JJ.

Vuc
Millsap
Gordon/Hezonja
JJ/Dipo
Payton

It wouldn't get done (because LAC and ATL wouldn't do it), but that team would be a contender for conference finals.

Smith and Napier/Watson fill out the regular rotation.

Payton/Napier
Redick/Oladipo
Gordon/Hezonja
Milsap
Vučević/Smith

I agree that there is a lot to like about that roster.

FINALLY! Someone captured what it is like to be BadMofoPimp reading the Trade thread and most of the crazy trade ideas around here!!!

That was just epic. So many times I have laughed myself to tears on here. No other board on RealGM can capture this like you just did. Bravo!

Sorry if this has been done (I don't keep up with trade threads) but how about Deng, Winslow, and cap filler for Tobias?

We get both older and younger, Miami goes in between with a better scoring option.

I'm sure they love Winslow in a vacuum and fans would freak, but I'm not sure how much that front office values rookies.

I really really hate the idea of trading any of our players within the division though.

I hear what you are saying -- but does that make us better?

Winslow is an athletic specimen -- no doubt. But he is a 26% 3 point shooter. Do we really want to trade for an athletic wing who can't shoot. Isn't that our whole team? Plus Deng is an UFA at season's end - if we have an interest in his veteran leadership (and we should -- him or someone like him) then why not just grab him then.

Look, I admire your attempt but I think its hard to figure a deal for Tobes that benefits us at this window.

Yeah I'm not thrilled with it either. Just trying to come up with workable ideas.

I'm totally with you about more forwards that can't shoot. I hate how everyone tries to trade them to us. The key is he's a rookie so there's time to roll the dice on upside. It's not yet another trade for MKG.

Deng would be a stopgap veteran. Then we use the extra cash to go get another one this summer.

Miami gets a balanced SF of the future and useful 2nd or 3rd option rather than the defensive project in Winslow. We take the upside/downside risk on him.
