This is a damn important game. A win would push us ever closer to a playoff spot. Currently we're only three games behind HCA in the first round. Indiana is only two games ahead of us in 6th, and Detroit is only a half game ahead of us in 8th. With Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando, New York, and Washington in tail-spins right now, and Detroit not really playing that well either, this road trip needs to go well.

I just realized we have nine days off for the All-Star break, and that we don't even play another home game until March 1.

Indiana, Milwaukee, Brooklyn, Cleveland, Indiana, Atlanta. We have no excuse to go less than 3-3 over these six games.

Biggest game of the season so far. A loss wouldn't end our playoff hopes by any means but we play Indiana three times in a short period of time. We must take at least two games.

We play them twice on the same road trip? That can't happen very often for anyone especially not outside of division play.

Since the start of the 2011-12 season we are 3-11 vs the Pacers. Outside of Lebron's Heat/Cavs, no team has owned us worse than the Pacers in the East.

6 of those 14 games saw us score less than 80 points. That is shocking. Granted, we aren't the same inept offensive team of years past and the Pacers are the same defensive juggernaut of years past, but damn, that's brutal.

Only twice those 14 games did we score more than 100.

Starting Turner has had an impact on their defensive prowess of late I think?

I can see him doing a number on our bigs and also swatting drives by Kemba, JLin and MKG left, right and centre.

Maybe Marv, Hawes and Frank can pull him out to the perimeter to nullify his impact?

Hopefully.

So the Hornets call me all the time, asking me if I want to buy season tickets. I was a season ticket holder for 7 years. Every time they have called for the past 2 years I always tell them the same thing... "No thanks, I am not interesting in buying tickets this season". and then they ask why and I say "because my work schedule does not mesh with the game times". You'd think by now they would make a note and leave me alone. LOL. Nope.

Just now I got a call and I told them I was not interested and they guy on the phone says "Why not, are you just not a basketball fan anymore?" HAHA. If they only knew.

I just wanted to scream. "Do you know who I am mother ****? I am Fat **** Lever from Realgm. I watch every single **** game and then spend 10 hours a day talking about the games on the Internet with people all over the world. I follow 200 god damn people on twitter just to get real time info on the Hornets. I eat, sleep, drink, piss and **** Hornets. I know more about the **** Hornets than you, your six bosses and the 25 other hacks they have calling people right now."

Then he would say "Real what?"

And I would flip out and throw my phone against the wall and bang my head on my desk for the rest of the afternoon.

Next time you should just say "I stopped watching the Hornets because that coach won't play Gerald Wallace anymore" and run with that take.

That's a good idea.

There's a 50% chance the person on the phone won't get the joke.

I thought your main motivation behind not renewing your season tix was because after 7 years of having the same seats and sweet deal they jacked your ticket prices up about 750% from one season to the next (re-brand year)?

Yes, that was the initial reason. They jumped my price from $450 to $900. And since then I moved my hours to a later schedule, going from 9:30 to 6:30 to now working 10:30 to 7:30, making it impossible to go during the week. I was OK having season tix back then, even if I was only going to Saturday games, because my tix were dirt cheap, even going to 5-10 games was cheaper than buying single game tix. But when they wanted me to pay double, I just couldnt justify paying the increase, knowing I would never go to any of the weekday games.

Here's my take from the Playoffs thread:

Current Record: 26-26
Estimated Record to get 8 spot in Playoffs: 43-39
Necessary Record rest of the way: 17-13

Below is our remaining schedule and my predictions for wins, losses, and question marks depending on home or away games and the quality of the opponent. By my estimate, in games with predictable outcomes, we should go 12-9, which would put our record at 38-35. This means that in the 9 remaining "question mark" games, we need to go 5-4, which is doable but since these are tossup games, we need to be gelling pretty well as a team.

Additional thoughts:

- My assessment is just eyeballing it. We may need a 44-38 record or even 45-37 record if Detroit and Indiana play well
- The end of the season should be a nailbiter
- Games against Indiana, Detroit, and Chicago will be extremely important.
- Given that WAS, MIL, ORL, and NYK are trending downward, as well as CHI, I think we should be feeling fairly positive about the end of the season since we should be at full strength in a couple weeks, and if there are no unexpected injuries or roster moves.

Still blows me away they would double someone's season tickets after being a season ticket holder for as long as you were and expected you'd be ok with it.

That's nuts.

Man, that is another brutal stretch of games. Thank god it gets easier in March and April.
