Best trade proposal for us? (Hornets)

Post#1 » by King- » Tue Feb 9, 2016 5:03 am

What do you guys think about this trade? I think with the first round pick, Hornets would probably be interested- and for us this is the only realistic move for Harris (the guy that we same to be entertaining trades for) that would make sense for us:

Tobias Harris + Channing Frye + First round pick

for:

Michael Kidd Gilchrist + Marvin Williams

What do you guys think?

MKG can't shoot, great defender but so is AG....and adding a 1st is ludicrous.

We need more shooters. MKG's not a very good fit next to Gordon.

Offense runs through Vuc and Mario- how many shooters could you possibly need when your defense is abysmal?

We always complain about our defense... Well.

Imagine a back-front court of EP-Mario-MKG-AG. it doesn't get much more athletic then that.

Mario spaces the floor- and Marvin Williams provides instant offense off the bench.

It's not like Tobias Harris is an elite offensive player. He has not been very good shooting the ball this season, correct me if I'm wrong

You're right that Tobias Harris isn't a great shooter. But the solution is to trade for someone who's better at shooting, not worse. I think a lineup of EP/Dipo - Hezonja - Fournier - Gordon - Vucevic has a pretty good balance between offense and defense.

Marvin Williams and instant offense have never been used in the same sentence.

True. But ignore all the college hype and draft pick number. if you ignore all that and take him for what he is right now: he's been having a good year and he's shooting it very well as of lately.

But I do see your point about upgrading Tobias for someone who can actually shoot. Mirza Teletovic has caught flames at various times this year, I thought Hornacek was terrible with his minute allocation for him. He's looked better then his numbers suggest, I wish we could get him.

Replace Frye with him. Would be a 100x upgrade.

The 1st round pick should be coming from the Hornets here.......and it would still be a no.

Didn't Rob get Williams in a trade once before and waive him immediately?

If anyone wanted any further reasons to turn this down, you've got Marvin Williams' impending free agency to factor in. So it would be Tobias, Frye (who as much as we are down on him a lot still seems to have some value in the league) and a first rounder for MKG and a couple of months of Marvin Williams.

Never been a fan of MKG... and he wouldn't fit with this team anyway.
