BIG SPAIN INJURY = "THE BIG BLESSING IN DISGUISE"

While we never want to see anyone hurt, we do have to look at the bigger picture, and it is hoped that this recent event will be viewed as this season is unlikely to bare any fruit of post season success, hence our assets can be traded with solely the future in mind. It is hoped that we definitely want to keep Chalmers and Barnes so to do that without having to renounce their rights in the off season we must attempt to get better contract deals on younger players for Jeff Green and Courtney Lee. I am not holding my breathe for a 1st round draft pick but any potential rookie contract deals for a potential rotational player, (Ben McLemore - Sac, Victor Oladipo, Evan Fournier-Orlando, Cameron Payne - OKC) or a veteran player on a long term deal that would be in the rotation (Markeif Morris - Phoenix, Michael Kidd Gilchrist-Charlotte, Rudy Gay-Sac). Having CAP SPACE and either having to overpay for an average talent or left idle because no one is willing to take your money is THE VERY WRONG MOVE.

The injury to Marc has change things for the Grizzlies. And with the window all but close with this core group, moves will have to be made for the sake of the franchise. Not panic moves, but smart and calculated moves for the future.

You don't get Payne, Oladipo or Fournier for Guys like Lee or Green.

I'm expecting the Thunder to keep CamPayne as an insurance policy for the Thunder's future. As for Oladipo and Fournier, if "m the Magic I keep Oladipo as he shows promise of leadership, has defensive and aggressive qualities, to be useful for the Magic. He just need to work on his shooting techniques. Fournier is likely to be a trade candidate, but like u said, I don't see anyone on the roster that the Grizzlies could off the Magic.

Neither Lee nor Green hold much value. Lee is expiring and Green has never made a team any better. I could see the Thunder offering something like McGary+x+2nd round pick for Lee, but that's about it.

Courtney Lee is a player. Payne, Olidipo, and Fournier are UNPROVEN. Fournier is in the midst of 1 great season. Courtney Lee was a top prospect in orldando with Dwight Howard and sought after by any team. He is now a solid veteran player. He's not going to win you a game hisself but he is a great contributer and a proven product.

All the time you see trades of guys like Courtney Lee and Jeff Green - established NBA players - for prospects - such as Payne, Olidipo and Fournier. There is a huge difference between being a prospect on a joke farm team like Orlando and being a solid contributer to playoff teams like the Grizzlies, Thunder, Rockets.
