I commend Vlade for his patience. He inherited a plagued franchise and he is bringing stability to a chaotic environment. The stability being in the front office/coaching. I respect that. Firing a HOF coach is NOT a good look for the franchise. Then you get the coaching fraternity ripping the Kings and the franchise's respect levels again plunder.

Vlade is not afraid to pull a trade. I'm open to seeing this team disintegrate. Honestly, I'd want to hold on to Ben and WCS if we were to blow it up. I can't believe I'm willing to see a trade of Cousins, but if you're blowing it up better not leave any c4 that might blow it up even more later.

This franchise although it may set them back years from championship contender (lol) I don't think it sets us out of playoffs for long. With cousins and company you can pull back pieces that are going to be young, play hard and compete (i.e trailblazers)

Let's hope it was Vlade's decision and not the Minority Owners saying No like Sam Amick is reporting.

I trust in Vlade too but you also have to take into account the position he is in. Of course he's going to say that it's his final decision, because the alternative would be "well the minority owners didn't want to lose any more money so we're going to hold onto him." I have no clue either way but it wouldn't surprise me one bit that the minority owners pushed to keep Karl. In any case, I do think Vlade handled the whole situation appropriately. Let Karl finish the year and give him the axe in the summer if nothing changes.

I've got a new baby who can't sleep so I've got some time to kill. What's interesting is checking out your profile. When you joined in 2008 you were all about trades as well, except you didn't claim to have a source. So it looks like you were a typical fan that searched for rumors, checked out basketball sites and injury reports and then put together theoretical deals. Even then, you seemed to get aggravated when anyone "put down" deals you were suggesting.

After a while, you suddenly had a source and stopped being a fan thinking up trades to an "insider" reporting stuff. But the basic premise of your posts, even the language and sensitivity is about the same. It's interesting.

Ok back to not sleeping. I promise I'll let it go now.

So in looking at it logically both could be true. Vlade could have had meetings with the execs and weight the pros and cons then also gotten input from the ownership group on their thoughts and then made his decisions considering all the factors involved. So like you said, he made the right decision in any case.

Strong leaders receive feedback and collaborate with others; Vlade is the point person, but he's running a team of decision makers. Therefore, since George Karl is still at the helm, its safe to say the group ended with that consensus. Certainly, coalitions within an organization exhibit influence over another (maybe the minority owners), but we can only see the result. It's safe to assume Vlade and his leadership team believe keeping Karl on is the best thing for the franchise. I respect that. The easy route is to give him the boot.

you can't expect people to just bow at your feet. Nor should you get upset when you're challenged. It looks foolish and hurts your credibility.

Think objectively here...you're on an Internet forum positing about your "source." It could be accurate, but many times as the above poster mentioned your scenarios cover literally almost every scenario. Cousins may or may not get traded before the deadline. They may keep him. He's no longer untouchable.

That's not legitimate...at all...sorry man...but the reality is it just sounds bogus and hurts credibility. Now this is a forum so it's quite entertaining, so please by all means go at it. But in this space, to expect people to either bow at your feet and/or not say anything at all is hilarious.

I never say anything about this stuff, but the constant complaints about others calling you out gets funny/annoying. I'm not a troll. I've been a faithful member of this board for 10 years. I always enjoy great discussion generated. I enjoy your posts too. My point is for you to consider that people are going to challenge you and for you not to get all bent out of shape. Now I'm classified as a hater who has "probably done this to other people." When in reality, I believe I contribute (mostly read) to good basketball discussion. I don't need to list my credentials, but i know as a long time fan that I bring meaningful discussion. However, this thread has somehow turned to the DozenCousins defense of his dissertation. Again, my point is...don't defend your stuff...just post...if you get challenged on your stuff, receive it and move on. Someone bashes you (which I didn't do) let the Mods handle it.

I'm personally a tad uncomfortable by the increasing popularity of moving Cuz as a pro-Cuz fan of the team, but being around others who think different can be a positive as it teaches diversity. It's true that it's subjective and there is no fixed solution to the issue of bettering the team, and as the team continues to struggle Cousins availability will be at issue

Praising Cousins a few weeks ago for looking like a top three player, discussing his supposed availability now, and maybe being back to praising him in the future as the most dominant big in the league if he's able to show that in a healthy environment in the future is becoming a popular belief in a lot of the forums. IMO, from everything I've read Vlade/Vivek ride for him like I do though, and will not be quick with the leash in the time it takes to let him prove himself

But there is no right/wrong to a complex issue. All ideas have their own merit

I feel the exact same way. I tied myself to DMC because as a Kings fan we have waited for a big name that was drafted here, developed here and was loyal AND was dominating. We seem to have it with him and that is intoxicating in the way that we don't want to go back to the days when we didn't have it. It makes us rationalize away his faults. I'm still firmly in the "build around Boogie" camp. I'm also convinced George Karl will not gameplan to Cousins' strengths. He's committed to a system that doesn't fit our best player.

As someone who is pro-Cousins, concern for whether he would re sign here given the situation is one of the angles I can empathize. But I think he's been clear that he wants to remain here (slam magazine article) and it would take a lot to sway him

For me, I'd like to see him with a coach that game plans for him first, which I believe will be next year. You can't be thrifty with the most dominant big in the game. If it doesn't work out with the next coach, which we will start to see by next deadline , then you still have a year and a half on contract

Cousins has been a star for the past three years. 0-11 without him no supporting cast first year, sabotage last year, and misuse this year. Vlade will wait til he sees him utilized appropriately with supporting cast IMO
