Houston is having issues and taking trade calls for Dwight, who is useless to me right now. I don't remember the last time he had any impact on any game, it seems he has been injured two years in a row. He wouldn't make us better anyway.

If houston is going to break things up... I want Ariza. Need to get him here, he's on a great contract and perfect for us. I don't know if Houston wants some cap space this summer, and if they do... I'd swap Deng for Ariza/filler (terry...? ew I know, he isn't happy there though).

though if we're looking at our own tax situation, it doesn't help us in that department

He hates LeBron and he can hit threes. He's welcome here.

It would be awesome to keep both Deng and get ariza. Honestly I think this is going to be a crazy deadline. Even if we don't make a lot of moves I see moves happening around the league that could change everything. Hawks could be different celtics Cavs Bulls raps etc are all looking into things.

Someone mentioned earlier trading Dragic to the Rockets and at first I was think if it isn't Harden don't do it which obviously isn't happening. The more I think about it I think we could hit big on a trade with them. Apparently their dying to get Dragic I forgot the word they used but it was along the lines of desperate. I think we could center a trade around Dragic and get Beverly Ariza and Thornton back. Maybe Dragic green and Stokes/Richardson idk. They seem to be very high on him though and we would be getting 3 quality pieces. We're giving the best player a guy who can get hot just not for us for some reason and a youth project. We're adding defense and 3 point shooting while adding needed depth to the bench.

Thoughts?

I would love to do that trade.I'm not sold on Dragic and I don't think he's worth $85million dollars. Ariza would obviously help our 3 point shooting needs tremendously.

It's funny if we get back Beverly, since we cut him in 2010 I still don't think he's over it he loves going against us and he get's chippy at guys like Wade and Haslem.

But I'd welcome him here with open arms great defender, and can hit the 3,a 3&D PG which I find much better for us.

Beverly/Udrih
Wade/Thornton
Deng/Ariza
Bosh/Winslow
Whiteside/Amare

Very solid in my opinion. Beverly Thornton and Ariza can all shoot and Ariza and Beverly are good defenders at their position. We need to find a way to move McRoberts as well. Would suck to lose Dragic I like having him but in terms of production for our team we would be getting a 3 for 1 1/2 here.

It's not. It's simply Hassan growing up, putting aside ego and realizing what he has here. Entitlement mentality won't get you far especially for a contender. Does he want to contend or does he merely just wish to put up monster stats in a team going nowhere!

For the record we just came off a lottery season. Let that sink in. We are not a contender.

All things being equal it just makes more logic for Whiteside to want a fresh start. More money new start just makes to much sense.

After that trade you would just flip Deng & McRoberts/Birdman for Ryan Anderson. To even out the mintutes and depth

QUIZ wrote:The Magic are giving up way too much value to only get Teague and two decent wings in return.

It doesn't make sense for the Hawks either. They lose Horford, Teague, and Korver and they get Harris, Oladipo, Bird, and Whiteside? They aren't looking for a salary dump they're looking for future assets so that they don't become a treadmill team. Harris, Oladipo and a Hassan rental won't help them achieve that.

You could be right but I just threw this together based on rumors going around lately. The rumors I based my trade on:

Hawks looking to swap Teague with oladipo

Johnson to the Kings for Casspi

Horford on the trade block and think I saw they're looking for a defensive big man but maybe that was the magic. Horford would be a perfect fit for us in my opinion.

Korver being on the block

The magic being linked to us in Tobias trade rumors and the main thing they're looking for is veteran guys to help even out the youth and defensive guys. Deng and thabo fit that I think.

There's no telling whether or not these guys would leave after their contract expires or not. The Hawks would clear a good amount of money I believe and have oladipo Harris millsap and possibly Whiteside to build on. The magic get their leadership and the PG they've had rumors with and could actually be pretty good in my opinion if they are able to retain Deng but if not they've cleared money. Kings want Johnson and we need shooting that Casspi would give us. Korver bring veteran and experience with his shooting and is one of the best shooters ever probably while we also get some youth that can shoot as well, I believe Fournier is 22. Not sure if everyone would be interested but it's a trade made up of moves I've seen mentioned in rumors as well as a few extras. I think it would be good to at least try it out.

Dragic
Wade/Korver/Fournier
Casspi
Bosh
Horford

That's very nice :D

You start Fournier at SF in that case. He's much better then Korver and Casppi and has much more room to grow.

Dragic
Wade/Justise
Fournier/Korver
Bosh/Casspi
Horford

Our shooting improves by a tenfold

Well considering he's younger then Bosh, and Bosh looks like our best player most of the time...we can do worse then Horford.

Durant aint coming through these doors.

Everything coming out from anyone in or around the team is leading to one conclusion - we're not giving him anything near a max. In that case, he's probably gone. If he's gone next year anyway, I don't mind trading him and looking for the best value we can get back.

A test of his character i believe. If he wants to develop as a player and as a man, understands the blessing being excavated from the depths of nowhere to a club w/ Championship DNA where he can be guided and nurtured he stays regardless what money is offered. If he bolts because he believes he is deserving of max pay & demands it then good riddance.

Jesus H! A man's character is now determined by signing a below market deal with a sports team to make fans happy?

Putting the Heat and fans above his family would scream immaturity. Grown men take care of their family 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. This is business.

Treadmill team with a 2 year window.

As long as we rely on Wade and Bosh to do heavy lifting, 2 years is the best we can hope for. There's no point in planning beyond that.

2 years of what though? Challenging LeBron? In exchange for that we tie up our money in above average players for the forceable future?

It just doesn't seem like a Riley move.

He's not going to invest all of our cap space in Horford and Fournier. He's going to swing for the fences in 2017 and either hit a home run or not.

I keep referencing this but in 2009 people wanted Riley to forget about 2010 and instead build around Wade asap. Wade was pushing hard for the Heat to sign Lamar Odom. If we had the big 3 never would've happened.

We aren't overpaying for Batum or Fournier.
