Nice story about Crawford

Post#1 » by Roscoe Sheed » Sat Feb 13, 2016 4:26 am

Jamal Crawford may have his flaws on the basketball court (he does have some strengths as well- even if most of the fan base doesn't recognize them), but this is a nice story about how helpful he is to other players

You can tell he must be a great guy by the way the players put up with, and even feed, his ball hogging ways. If he could ever see the clock at 12 seconds and not think "shot clock is running down, must shoot it!" he could be a very effective player.

Jamal is actually very, very liked by most teammates and other players. He legitimately seems like an extremely nice guy and someone who would be fun to be around.

Jamal seems to be a genuine person that is well-liked by those that know him. His teammates hold him in high regard as a person and as a player. A few weeks ago, he paid tribute to a STH that passed away. I didn't know the guy, but the gesture touched the hearts of those that did.

This quote struck me:

“That was the first time I’d seen him, and he was the nicest guy ever,” Thomas said. “I didn’t think any real players were like that.”

I get athletes aren't supposed to be role models. But when a great athlete is also a great human being, I think it can have that more of an impact on a kid.

I don't feel like it deserves another thread, so I'll just post these here.

I know the Clipcast guys can't sing his praises enough...I honestly never thought much of him as a player before he came here (way too much of a shot-chucker for my tastes), but my opinion has definitely swayed the other way. But as a person, Jamal's definitely a good guy.
