I'm drunk but just want to say one thing...everyone says McD is great at drafting. Only good pick he's made is Booker, who evvvvvvverybody would have drafted at 13...he dropped and we took advantage, that doesn't make McD a genius. Only good move McD has made is Dudley for Bled...other than that he needs to humble up and stop being a robot, he's not that good

Just get the best player that goes to a new team.
That's it, wake me up.

How are Len, Warren, Archie (given how he's played since getting minutes this year), and Bogdan (given how his stock has jumped overseas), bad picks? Seriously, I want to read this logic.

Because McD didn't actually have to make those picks, the decision was made for him by the teams drafting ahead.
But JJ13 said he was drunk, so logic ain't exactly enhanced.
SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

He has a great eye for talent. He targeted Booker. Made a draft day trade for Leuer. Cashed in Scola for Green and Plumlee each of whom had break out seasons the following year. Selected TJ Warren. Hand picked Goodwin. You are on the losing end of your own argument.

It also shows GMs understand they can't all win championships and need to win trades.
Even if that means finishing 3rd last, they can keep their jobs by being canny.
A PF rotation of Teletovic, Leuer, Morris that cost McD a 2nd round pick is a win for him.

Ainge is **** amazing. Looking to trade for Love and then helping Cleveland get Melo from New York? Maybe even getting Melo or helping facilitate him getting traded to the Clippers for Griffin?

Re: The Trade Thread (Booker is UNTOUCHABLE so dont even ask!)
IMO, there has been a single thing that has derailed this entire rebuild process, and something nobody within the sun's could have prevented.......Markieff/Marcus getting in trouble with the law. And it has been a cloud over our heads for a good while.
Granted, along the way there have been mistakes.
a.) trading for Knight. Had the same players/picks been involved, i would have (and i'll say it again) traded for MCW. Yes, he's not great.....but he would be a better fit next to Bledsoe in the 2pg lineup, and he would have made less money for 2 extra years.
b.) signing Thomas. I can see this two ways. Yes, he made Dragic super salty......but it prevented us from resigning Dragic to a terrible contract. Save for the year and a half of stats during his homecoming, he's been rather underwhelming for his 6 other years. I'm perfectly content with not having to be the ones paying him 5/80 for his production.
---------
but getting back to my point. Had MoBros not been stupid, they both probably would still be on the roster, AND we more than likely would have been able to make a run at Aldridge. Would he have signed, probably not, but we wouldnt be crucifying McD right now.....even if we had the same record. Marcus has been productive in Detroit, and a happy Markieff would have been just as productive as he has shown.
I would have been content with our situation
Len/Chandler
Markieff/Leuer
Tucker/Marcus
MCW/Booker
Bledsoe/Goodwin
with
Suns lotto
Cavs 2016
Heat 2018
Heat 2021
AND, all of our own first rounders.

So a trade Knight for Morris and Carter-Williams is the solution.

Re: The Trade Thread (Booker is UNTOUCHABLE so dont even ask!)
I know that Booker is a SG, but if Oladipo is really available I would trade Knight for him + Frye.
Without Tucker and Weems we need another good player on the wings, and he is terrific on defense.
Next year we can rotate Booker, Oladipo and Warren a ton of minues at SG/SF, so minutes would not be a problem at all.
Bledsoe/Goodwin
Booker/Oladipo
Warren/Oladipo
Top 5 pick/Frye
Len/Chandler
We can add another rookie or two to that roster and we have enough veterans with Bledsoe,Frye and Chandler.
I do not count with Bogdanovic because he needs to wait another season overseas to sign a better contract in the NBA (like Mirotic on his day) and skip the rookie scale.

That's HORRIBLE. Oladipo is only 6 months younger than Knight and Knight is a better player than Oladipo who will probably get more money in free agency this summer than Knight. Frye is done, so you should add his salary to Oladipo's too.

Unless the Suns can get a superstar (without giving up Devin Booker), there is no point in making lateral moves. If players like Markieff, Tucker, Teletovich, Knight, Chandler, etc. are traded, the only things that should be coming back are expiring contracts, young players, or picks. No more veterans.

Do you think that Knight is a better overall player than Oladipo?
I think Oladipo is better at everything except on catch and shoot situations. I am more confortable with him even handling the ball because he doesn't take too many risks. Defensively they are not in the same league and he is not a choker....with Oladipo in place of Knight players like Booker, Warren and Len would have more shots available for them.
I don't like Frye at this point, but he can provide some shooting coming from the bench and leadership and his salary is not a problen because we are going to have too much space.

Yes, I think Knight is a slightly better player than Oladipo. Oladpio takes plenty of terrible shots himself. Just ask Magic's fans. It's not a coincidence that Orlando started winning more games when he was moved to the bench.
Career per 36 minutes stats:
Knight 15.0 FGA, 5.0 ast, 3.1 tov, .481 eFG%
Oladipo 14.4 FGA, 4.5 ast, 3.1 tov, .468 eFG%
Oladipo's great defense is a myth too. Orlando is better defensively with him on the bench.
Frye provides nothing, on or off the court.

Its one of the reasons I find a trade with the Raptors for Scola, JJ and Delon Wright more appealing than Ersan ILysaova - because it gets two contracts that are expiring. Ilyasova has one more year left
Ainge is something else if he can swing a three team deal with the Cavs and Celtics. My guess is that David Lee would go from Boston to NY as an expiring. And if the Cavs get Anthony - not sure that helps them. Believe it or not, I still think the trade of Kieff and Knight for Love helps the Cavs more. If you want to include Tucker for Mozgov - that might work too.

Cle: Carmelo
Bos: Love
NY: Mozgov and Lee
it works in the trade machine - pretty simple really and EFF YOU Ainge - the deal should be the Suns moving Kieff for Love with expirings.

I agree. But the fans loves star players forming up to create the next big three. If the Cavs have a deal lined up to get Melo I'd think they'd rather have that though then two above average starters (borderline all-stars?) in Knight/Kieff.

I get the star power of Carmelo. And there is ZERO doubt he can score the ball. But is he REALLY want the Cavs need to beat the Warriors, Thunder or Spurs in the Finals. Or even Toronto or the Bulls. I know I am guided by the Suns - but Kieff and Knight in, Love and JR out - and I think the Cavs are better. Like I said, Tucker for Mozgov also frees up minues.
And yes, if the three team trade were
Love to the Celtics
Kieff and Knight to the Cavs
Mozgov and Lee to the Suns
I would have to thnk about that
