I'd want top 4 protection. Imo, Gordon is the perfect PF for our system aside from his shooting. His handles and athleticism are very much elite. But the thing is, the 3rd pick is likely Bender, who is crazy fast and can shoot the lights out at the 4, and a decent athlete on his own. I'd probably try to exchange one of our guards for dead salary (Frye) and keep the pick.

What's elite about Gordon is his D. Teams keep watching how much Green means to the Warriors. That's the type of impact they would want.

Then we get the first or second pick. And we watch a Len, Gordon, Ingram front line along with a Bledsoe Booker back court. Just feed those kids and watch them grow.

Top 3 or 4 protected, yes, easily, and maybe the way you put it. We are quite far away and I am not sure Gordon will develop a good enough shot for us. In this league, if you don't have shooters, you are done. Bender and Ellenson look like potentially great players who CAN shoot. As good as Gordon was as a freshman in college, as amazing as it is, it is not as good as Ellenson. I know people don't want white guys at these positions, and Gordon's athleticism is enticing (I'm an AZ alum and love the guy) but from my Suns fan perspective, if we can't shoot in the future we don't have a chance. Gordon is a GREAT rebounder, but Ellenson is better in college at least, and a far better scorer, and Bender may have unlimited potential, and same with Jaylen Brown.

I don't think Orlando would do it even top 2 protected...they are probably as invested in Gordon as we are in Booker, but they seriously lack shooters...but that trade wouldn't help them much....and I think they want to win now, and as much as Sarver wants to, we likely are not ready to win for awhile, and we have zero chance against the west top 3 in the foreseeable future so we should be focused on 3-7 years from now to start really getting in there unless we can land a prize in free agency, which is extremely far fetched (far more than usual with everyone now having cap space).

Edit...I see AtheJ415 beat me to almost the exact same thing a minute before.

I think Bender has bust written all over him. Porzingis is producing the "Dirk effect". After Dirk excelled teams started stretching for Euro big men and most were busts.

I'd rather Kidd-Gilchrist, if we're looking for a Draymond Green type.

Plus Charlotte are more likely to take Knight / Chandler for a win now approach.

I love Gordon. I just don't know that he's so good I'd trade assets plus Bender or assets plus Dunn for him. Odds are we don't get that top 2 pick (probably a 1/3 shot once we settle in at the 2 or 3 spot in the reverse standings). Who knows. It would be a tough call for me. But I'd include something additional to get the additional 2 spots of protection. Maybe the Cavs pick. There are some really good players in the top 4 of this draft that I like a lot.

Well, you just never know with guys....maybe, maybe not....people said the same about Porzingis, who I also was hoping we dealt Bledsoe for when that rumor was going around. I'm ok taking a chance when the alternative is getting a high energy guy who can't shoot yet (though I think he will get better and he is a hard worker and I think he will) but I don't think Orlando trades him anyway...I know this is all hypothetical, but I'd stick with draft picks now as long as they are high. I want to see how these guys fare in the tourney though. Ellenson looks like a better version of Kaminsky. The only difference is he is a FAR better rebounder and is also a freshman (Kaminsky sucked as a freshman and sophomore and wasn't that lottery pick until after his senior year). I think Ellenson's comp is Love....and maybe some tough Love.

Most here seem to demand the Denver/Knicks pick along with JJ or PPat and/or fillers. At this point, personally I'd be fine with PPat and your own pick, but we may end up with a better offer from Houston....I think we'd prefer Terrence Jones than any package you guys put together unless you give up that first pick I mentioned.

Ellenson is godawful I'm sorry. He's a double double machine with some intriguing ball handling skills but doens't have the lateral agility or physciality to stick with PFs and moves less fluidly than than Olynk, so he might only cut it as as center. Pius he's shooting below 30% from beyond the arc with a poor outside touch which is a seriosu concern and doesn't pick his spots well.

Kevin Love never shot 3s in college. He's 19. Myles Turner sucked at shooting 3s in college also.

No bigs shoot that well outside the arc except for that junior or senior I mentioned in the draft thread...shooting 45%. He is young and putting up huge stats as a freshman in college. Better than almost anyone for a big as a freshman. If the same guy was black, I bet you would be all over him. I'm not calling you racist, because I can understand feeling the way you do.

No, we already have this year's pick, though I'd take the 2018 one if they still own it. What player with relatively fair value would he be worth trading for?

But yes, I think Tucker is very likely to be traded. If Knight comes back, I see Booker playing a lot at 3.

If 3 teams want him I think we could get a young player too. Maybe not a great young player, but for instance, Jared Cunningham or somebody like that. Maybe an additional 2nd. I mean, all 3 of those teams should be willing to give up a 1st given their current positions and goals.

I looked at the Clippers roster and there seems to be literally nobody who would fit what we need (young guy with some type of potential). Not sure how we make a trade there unless they're willing to give an unprotected future pick. Raptors have the best fit as far as actual players on their team (no picks). Their young guys are just more desirable (Caboclo, Noguiera, Wright, Ross).

At the end of the day I think both Kieff and Tucker go to the Raptors for multiple youngsters plus the Knicks pick.

They'd need to throw in a first for us to take on that contract.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

They'd have to throw in Lebron just for me to even entertain that offer.

I'm all for the sun's taking back any terrible contracts as long as picks/youth is attached.

Suns trade:
Knight/Kieff/Tucker
Suns get:
Frye/Patterson/Watson/Gordon/Raps 2017/Clips 2017

Len/Chandler
Simmons?/Patterson/Frye
Gordon/Warren
Booker/Goodwin
Bledsoe/Watson

Raps trade:
Patterson/Johnson/Bennett/Raps 2017/Clips 2017
Raps get:
Kieff/Tucker

Magic trade:
Frye/Watson/Gordon
Magic get:
Knight/Johnson/Bennet

I'd throw in Miami's 2018 pick to Orlando to get it done if needed.

Return to Phoenix Suns
