Really curious to see what we do, if anything, this trade deadline. As long as we don't get rid of any of our draft picks or Booker, I will be fine.

Been coming to this board off and on since forever, not once that i can remeber either of these "insiders" been right....or even in the ballbark when coincidently all they prophesied is the ballpark.
Here's what I love...."I'm not allowed to give out specific info." What are you on a court order? The secret service or FBI tracking you? It's a freaking sport. Who cares. If you got some "good info," cool let us know, if you don't have good info don't bring it up.
I have absolutely no problem with what our insiders do or don't do. I couldnt care less if they are right 10% of the time....because well even the reputable sources are rarely correct when it comes to rumors or potential trades.
as far as not being allowed specific info....i completely understand that. The true insiders are given specific knowledge, knowledge that is based off of trust. If, for example, someone from the Sun's front office came to me and said "i'll give you the scoop, but you cannot go into details online. If you do....game over." The last thing i'd do is blurb it out online to a bunch of people i couldnt care less about.
Just look at what happened to Gambo. He used to have inside sources, now he has nothing. Not that i think he LOST the trust of the FO, but i dont think he's EARNED the trust of the new FO. And i think the way he's handled the whole Markieff thing hasnt helped.
In the end with guys like Ray Ray, they are only given bits and pieces of what's going on with the FO. For every potential trade they are told about, their are 5 others that are kept hush hush. If that one they are told about works our, then great.....but if something else materializes, then this board crucifies. If anything, they give us something to talk about.

Mr. Puddles to the rescue.
Suns will get the 2018 heat pick because Miami has to give their pick to Philadelphia this year. In 2019 it becomes unprotected if Miami drafts in the top 7 in 2018 (that's what you were thinking of). Then 2021 is unprotected.
So potentially we have 2 unprotected picks
I think there is a league rule that prevents teams from losing their first round pick two years in a row so the Suns would have to wait at least an extra year.

The 2019 Heat pick is completely unprotected. That is like gold in the NBA. I would only include that in a trade for a player that is top five in the league.
One thing on which we agree. This is especially true since Miami is due for a full rebuild.

Don't understand why some people don't understand this logic. Or why anyone tries to chase "insiders" away.

Ah right. I thought that was losing it to the same team though? Guess not. Also, I think it is dumb that Boston basically worked around this rule in the Nets trade by using pick swaps. What is the point of the rule if the Celtics have the Nets pick this year, AND can swap picks next year AND have the Nets 2018 pick. They basically have the Nets pick for the next three years, that rule isn't helping anyone when there is a huge loophole like this.

Exactly....and as unfortunate as it is, because of Bosh's potential status up in the air, the Miami picks become even more valuable. Miami's entire situation could turn into full panic mode in a year or two.
RIley isnt going to be GM for much longer
Wade is expecting a loyalty payday
Dragic has been completely underwhelming
Whiteside is likely gone
Bosh could retire
Before Shaq/Wade and more recently Wade/Bosh/Lebron Miami has never really been a prime FA destination. They've heavily relied on drafted talent to pan out, which gave FA's a reason to look at Miami.
With Bosh/Wade/Dragic all on the books for the 17/18 and 18/19 season, that pick COULD be top 5.

I agree to a point.....because well the rule is in place because the cavs owner in the 80s/90s basically traded away an entire franchise for crap.
The nets did circumvent the rule, and because of this they are pretty screwed for a long while. I have no problem with that, because well i hate both the Nets and Knicks.

Heat may indeed be going all in within the next 2 years before Riley hangs it up. But its not that simple.
Riley is president... But he still answers to the board and ownership. Heat and most major corporations have corporate governance that makes the decisions... Its not just up to an individual. Riley no doubt used Dragic's 3rd NBA team selectionto convince the ownership to sign off on his pursue of Dragic and help Heat remain a playoff team.
With that said... There is nothing wrong with them going hard after FAs whilst Wade, Bosh are playing well...
If Bosh needs time off again... Morris might actually make sense to them.

Kieff traded to Miami? Payback time for Dragic

Just hypothetically. What would be your opinion of someone who is actually just doing their best at pretending to be an insider in a forum? Someone who for whatever self-serving reason needs to "get off" via the attention that comes with the tag.
To change the venue in this hypothetical- If a bunch of your friends & associates often met up at a bar and talked NBA basketball on a recurring basis, and one of these guys claimed to know inside info over & over again. How pissed might you be if after years you found out he was making...spinning it all up out of nothing? Just bulls**tting all of you.
No big deal?

New Orleans makes an interesting trade partner. They're kind of in no-mans land right now when it comes to competing/tanking.
Markieff/Tucker for Gordon/Top 3 protected first would work for me. I don't like helping out another Western Conference team but it could land us a top 10 pick and Gordon's bird rights. Gets rid of Kieff while preserving options for this summer.

Patterson/Scola/Caboclo/Knicks '16 1st (top 7 protected)
for
Morris/Tucker/Cavs '16 1st/Suns '16 2nd (currently #33)/Suns '17 2nd
Should the Knicks pick end up staying with the Raptors (#1-#7), Suns will get choice of Toronto/LAC 2017 #1s, and Suns '17 2nd rounder stays with PHX.

From what i've gathered, the mods here do their due diligence when it comes to confirming whether or not an insider is legit, or just getting off on spewing crap just to rile us up. And if someone just comes here to stir the pot as an "insider", they quickly get banned by the mods. What that comes down to, only the mods here know. But i'm pretty certain they don't just let anybody claim to have knowledge without proving themselves.
Anytime a newbie comes here and claims "i have insider knowledge" a mod calls them out, verifies through PM, and posts publicly that the insider is legit.

a.) Gordon is expiring, so his contract goes away in 4 months.
b.) New Orleans isnt a prime FA destination, so it is becoming of them to stockpile draft picks in order to build a base to attract FAs.
They are in a situation where they'd likely take on bad contracts with picks attached knowing that they wont likely spend their cap space on good FAs. So in this case, they'd probably WANT a first to take Markieff off our hands.

You dont know if the insider are BSing or not.
Personally... I believe there are insiders here. Why?
Because a couple of times being up awake whilst some of you americans are sleeping.. Some posters here do post information only to be deleted by mods... Then the info is shared via PMs instead.... And I can vouch that it turned out to be true.

And just to add regarding the insiders.
There are multiple trades or transactions on the table at a time. Some insiders will get hold of some of these potential trades... Just because their info doesnt come true... It doesnt mean it wasnt on the table at one point.
Trades are negotiated all the time and if other teams up their offers...certain leaked trades simply dont eventuate... There are 30 teams and 29 teams can easily change their offers which kills off trades that has been discussed previously..
Very fluid indeed.
