PAYTON NEXT

Post#1 » by gazken » Tue Feb 16, 2016 10:12 pm

After todays trade its seems obvious to me that Skiles is not sold on EP.

Wouldnt be surprised if Payton is packaged in with Oladipo or even someone else for big player in near future

To be honest Payton is a fantastic facilitator but in todays game you need a backcourt that can shoot. EP shooting is god awful and we NEED a shooter at the point to make the playoffs period.

Not syaing Jennings is the answer because he probably isnt but this trade tells me that Skiles dont like EP that much.

I think Mario and gordon and Fornier are magics future now. Lets build around those 3 players

No way. Jennings is the backup that will help push Payton to become the player he needs to be
The future is bright 8-) Payton said. ``I just want to keep getting better and maybe one day I can be the all-time all assists leader for the Magic.’’

Payton is not next, it's Frye.

Elfrid is not going anywhere.

Your out of your mind if you think Rob is going to trade EP because of Skiles.

Maybe Elfrid is not going anywhere this season but doubt he gets a new contract after third year whilst Skiles is coach. Unless he has a amazing turn around with his jump shot.

I dont think skiles/henny will have any problem with packaging EP into a deal now.

I dont think Rob trades EP because of Stiles. I think Rob trades EP because he cant shoot. If his shooting dont pick up in year 3 then hes gone

I don't think the acquisition of Jennings implies much about Payton's future with the Magic. Jennings' contract is expiring, Ilyasova with the team option and Harris had just signed a long term contract - the intentions of the trade seem to be pretty clear and not related to the basketball contributions of the players they received in return.

There's a difference between the guys Henny has drafted and the guys he has acquired via trade/free agency.
I would be very surprised if Elf is dealt, I think of any of our top picks, oladipo would be the one to go.
Hezonja and Elf COULD be a hell of a backcourt and very balanced, plus remember they are becoming very close friends.

I mean I dont wanna seem like im hating on Payton as like I said he an amazing facilitator but I think a shooting PG is more valuable than a pass first one. Ideally we want both LOL

Just think for Orlando to take that next step an get back in the playoffs we need a backcourt who can shoot the hell out of teams. Mario gives us that Klay Thompson type of player hopefully. We just need a good Point guard who can shoot at a decent clip

I mean Dave Love a world class shotting coach hasnt even improved EPs jump shot has it. I really hope it does pickup because Ep has evrything else you would want in a point guard

Maybe, but he definitely won't be packaged with Oladipo. Zach Lowe had reported that teams like each player individually but not together.

I could see Oladipo being packaged together with Frye and AN for someone.

Not sure if you add our First thats enough to get Blake Griffin ?

But Frye is bye bye in next day.

Eh... can't say I remember that. I mean I'm sure he said nice things after we resigned him, but it was clear we wanted Millsap and not Harris this summer.
