MKG surgery will be in Philadelphia tomorrow. Dr. Gerald Williams will be the surgeon.

Is this a different Dr than the one who did the first surgery? Wasn't the first one done by Perry Cook Ortho guys.

Would have to check the press release after he did the first surgery, the guy you mentioned is the team physician but don't know if he actually did the surgery.

My guess is it's a new surgeon this go around.

Charlotte's best defensive player is set for surgery after tearing his labrum during the regular season and will be questionable for offseason work.

This is true for two people: MKG and Luke Kuechly. **** it all.

Has Luke been playing with it all season? I recall a shoulder injury early in the season

Can we still get an injured player exception or whatever for another roster spot? With the recent trade that would give us two roster spots to use on a 3rd PG and... wait for it... CDR!!

Its definitely a different doctor doing the surgery.

This is from October
October 6, 2015 – Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist underwent successful surgery today to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. The procedure was completed by Hornets team orthopedist Dr. Marcus Cook at Novant Health Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital. Typical recovery time for this procedure is approximately six months. Kidd-Gilchrist suffered the injury with 46 seconds remaining in the second quarter in Saturday’s preseason game at Orlando.

Disabled Player Exception application process ended about a month ago. Oddly enough, the Nuggets just got one today for Wilson Chandler. So it took at least a month for them to get approved.

No Braggins, you only get the extra roster spot if you're struggling to field an 8 or 9 man rotation on a nightly basis.

The "underwent successful surgery" press releases always crack me up.

"underwent successful surgery" = still alive and arm is still attached

I'm pretty sure the first one was done by this guy:

All surgeries are successful until a 250 pound behemoth lands on it.

:nonono:  :noway: It was totally crazy to bring MKG back as soon as they did. Now we have a core player/starter that will never be the same. Batum can start at 3,but who backs him up? I guess Marvin. That mean Cody and Frank will play 4. Marvin plays much better at 4
Lee is a pure 2
.We already have Lamb,Lin and Daniels and Batum that can play 2.We needed to deal for a 3 not another 2 :banghead:
WE WIN when MKG plays...Hind sight is 20/20,but they should have kept MKG off the floor until last 2 weeks of the season.
I really like MKG,but now I think he will be injury prone the rest of his career .

MKG is back in Charlotte and out of his sling. That can only be good news after second shoulder surgery.

speaking of MKG, has anyone seen him behind the bench for any of the recent games? I guess he's been in Philly for the past month? After his 1st injury, he was on the bench acting as an assistant coach. Will he pick up that roll for the remainder of the season?

Think I heard he had been away from the team until the game in Philly.
