I have a feeling EG will trade for Tobias Harris and give up a 1st Rounder for him

YO who would do this.
NENE and Dudly
for
Lee, Hunter and Mickey.
They don't play for boston, and two vets would help them make a play off push.
Micky and Lee would get playing time here, and so would hunter, and With Dudley gone, Kelly and Eddie get more playing time.

That just strikes me as so delusional. We've earned our crummy record, and our second half schedule as others have mentioned is not easy, it's easier, but that still requires one to assume that we can take advantage of it. I imagine many of the middling and worse opponents on our schedule are looking at us on theirs, and imagining that game is a win, or at least a 50/50 shot in their collective pockets. Even worse, many of the 2nd opponents in back to backers instead of being opponents we would have lost to anyway are instead teams we probably would beat or likely beat, if we were rested, but now w/the back to backer in play, probably are now toss ups.
Granted my october prediction can be flushed down the toilet, but when I look at that schedule I see a performance between 13-18 to 16-15, basically probably 36-41 wins, rather than the 42-52 I expected four months ago and considering how many teams we have to climb over to get to the playoffs, and that we're 3 games back already from the 8 seed, I just don't see it happening. I do like that there seem to be about 9-10 big men that could go between slots 3-20 or so which would suggest we have a good chance of finding someone worthwhile between slots 7-14 (basically where I think we'll pick, assuming we still have our's).

The nightmare scenario is our fearless leader trading our R1 for someone who'll be counted on to ensure we make the playoffs. Then we don't make the playoffs, and that pick jumps in the ping pong ball bingo.
Odds on that, anyone?

Somehow, Ernie will find a way to add another small forward to the roster.

I like your idea of going for Mickey. Duds for Mickey and filler works - Young works as filler - Young was a 1st round pick just 2 drafts ago - though he's been awful in limited PT. Mickey's done real well in the D League.

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline: What WILL EG do?
we still have our IPE from webby, if joe johnson gets a buy out, and we offer him that full amount, would it be more than his pro rate for a couple months. the way I understand it we can offer a player the full exception and its not pro ratted. so we could in fact give a player on the open market after a buy out more money than another team could. Yeah righting someone a 2. something million check for a couple mounths is a bit much but, its joes johnson and that would make us a lot better.

I couldn't decide, but you've decided for me. That's exactly what EG will do. He will get Joe Johnson. And everyone will do the millie dance. The sky's not falling. Like the ashes rising from a phoenix, Grunfeld's Wizards Are Rising. GWAR! Not the Spurs East. Not the Warriors East. These are the Spurriers! Say, does JJ still have that gargantuan SUV? That'll look nice double parked on F St.

I'm just saying it makes sense.....if we make enough movement at the deadline to look good adding JJ makes sense........and EG does love his wings.

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline: What WILL EG do?
Just gonna lol at how the front office is either standing pat or buying assets today. The clear best option is to sell literally everything but Wall/Beal/Porter/Gortat/Oubre and tank. Having a lottery pick as a possible trade asset (or just using it) and then the cap space to sign ~someone~ makes it infinitely more likely that the 2017 Wizards will be a top tier East team than Ted's preferred route of limping into the playoffs and getting swept, which brings the team absolutely no value whatsoever beyond selling a few playoff tickets.
KD doesn't care if the Wizards get swept in the first round or don't make the playoffs at all. Nobody would ever care about that. Also, he's not coming here anyway.
538 (fwiw) has Wiz playoffing at 21% and Detroit has already become a team the Wizards simply will not pass. This is so dumb.

No chance.

That D-Mo to Detroit trade is probably the base line for what we would have to give up for Anderson. D-Mo has health issues and Houston still got a top 8 protected pick for him.

That's a ridiculous trade.

With the deadline 20 mins away, if the braintrust thinks this roster can a compete seriously, the nba needs to drug test them.

I don't think it's a question of competing, rather they're not gonna give up the farm for a 30 game rental.

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline: What WILL EG do?
Two questions.
With Kief's salary on the books, are we still in the KD2dc sweepstakes without shedding some salary?
Now that we have an open roster spot and a wee bit of change under the lux tax, what is our biggest need for the remainder of the year and what buy out candidates are you all thinking could meet that need?

We still have enough room for Durant this summer.
I think our biggest need is an emergency backup 5 because I don't expect Nene to stay healthy for all 29 remaining games. I suppose Gooden could play a little center in a pinch, but it won't be pretty.
