Read my mind.

And mine too ;-)
My priority would be to get Gasol, before any other move because he can be a game changer while being on a good contract, and we would at least see what Al can do at PF with a C who can pass the ball. Too bad we did not sign him as a free agent, it would have been fantastic added to a 60W squad.
And even if he opts out, he can decide to stay here if the team makes a good run with him.
Now, it can also be just a rental, and that's why we can't overpay for him in a trade.

@BTRowland Broussard just said on SC, ATL talked w/MIL & they wanted Giannis or Jabari back for Jeff. If thats true JT isn't going anywhere

Acquiring Gasol would be a win-now move and you can't get rid of Teague while making a win-now move since Dennis is not ready to be a starter. We would probably take a step back if we made the swap of Teague for Gasol. Definitely not playing in the ECFs or challenging Cleveland.

Wow, even i know that is way too much. My picture of Teague's returning value from the Bucks is somewhere around Middleton or Bucks' lottery pick.

Giannis and Jabari are "potential" stars and the returning value for Teague is more of a solid young starter.

Could their be something worked out with a Teague or Dennis trade that involved Covington and/or Dario Saric?

Sixers back in the mix. I'd give them Teague and a first for Noel easily.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojVerticalNBA 5m5 minutes ago

Sources: Atlanta's expressing its intentions to rivals that Hawks plan to keep team intact at deadline, holding onto Horford and key guards.

I think that is best. I'm really ok with giving Horford max if it comes down to that.

as for Teague or Dennis, it might be better to trade then after the season or on draft day.

They really don't have a choice, but give Horford the max, no Superstar FA will come here, might as well keep our best players.

Correct.
The last thing the ownership needs to do is let players walk and not replace them with the same caliber player. I believe the odds are against us that we'll add a superstar to replace Horford so we need to keep him. Also, keep in mind that many fans like players that are going to be around for most of their career.

Our Hawks are winning. The same cannot be said for the Atlanta Falcons or Atlanta Braves, so our ownership has that going for them, and they've shown that they intend on spending money when necessary.

It's always safer to just stay the course and hope things will turn around on their own.

Sources: Atlanta has shut down talks on guard Jeff Teague with several suitors -- including Utah and New York.

With our success in draft picks, I like the idea of having a 1st rounder, but could also make one availabie for the right vet to come in here and strengthen our rotation.
We just saved 2.4M for Mack, but we need to add something to replace Splitter. I don't want to count on Moose.

Was an overpay considering the Rockets were likely to cut bait on him in pursuit of freeing up money for bigger named free agents come the summer but Stan knows the types of players he want's around Dwi....er..Drummond. He essentially secured the rights to Motiejunas and already has a pretty full young core of Drummond, Jackson, KCP, Harris and Stanley Johnson making another 1st round rookie expendable. Real shocker is how Morey continues getting assets for guys he doesn't even value, there must be something to that cold analytical negotiation tactic.

Detroit now has Drummond and Montiejunas as RFA - will they resign both. Drummond will be looking for max money. If Montie gets over his back issue as a young big he'll be looking to get paid also. Tobias is paid.
Oh and I think they are still paying Josh Smith.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
