**** this season!
**** this team!
**** Morey!

Thornton one of the only shooters worth a damn on this team and I know D-Mo has the back issues but it just sucks we had to give up on him.

Another year another Rocket fan favorite traded. I guess it had to be done. Good return.

no trade will save this season
morey is doing for next year
he knows he can't re-sign both dmo and tjones (he probably won't re-sign either one anyway)
top 8 protected in 2016
it is looking like mid 1st round pick

Thornton too... He's easily been one of the few bright spots for the most part this season... The only thing that will make this better is the trash that is lawson being traded...

I do not like this.

I hope that this isn't the only move.

Might not feel great now, but...

Come October, if DMo signs a fat contract with Detroit, then reinjures his back. Meanwhile you guys could draft a guy like say Wade Baldwin IV who could turn out great. At that point you might look back and appreciate it. With the RFA and the draft pick still undecided it's harder to grade the deal now for its long term impact.

Judging by what we know now, I think it could be a good deal for both teams, especially if the Rockets hadn't planned on re-signing him anyway.

Hi. Piston fan. Does anyone have any insight on DMo's back? This trade seems very risky for Detroit. If DMo never gets healthy, we just gifted you a mid first round pick this year. If DMo get's healthy and plays this year, Detroit is probably going to have to match a big restricted free agent offer. So I assume you like his game when healthy?

This trade just keeps getting worse.
We gave up Denver's 2nd to move Anthony to Philly!?!

Dmo + Thornton + early 2nd for end of lottery-mid 1st???

Worst trade of Morey's time here. It makes no sense!!! Did he just miss drafting at 14 or something?

we also get Chu Chu Maduabum (D-League PF) from Philly
told you Morey is overrated (he's building on his asset again, easier to trade draft right than sign-and-trade restricted free agent)
yea i'm ready for you Morey's fans

We have been through this too many times. Morey will come out soon and talk this trade up and how having two 1st will help him in his chase for the 3rd star this summer....

Enough with this 3rd star Morey. I hope I'm wrong.

You guys do know this return for an injured, restricted Dmo whose back can be worse than we know is better than what the Jazz got for Kanter and what OKC got for Jackson right? I loved Dmo as much as anyone but Morey got really good value for him when we might have lost him in the offseason.

This trade is fantastic, in reality other than Beverley, Harden, Ariza and Capela, the rest of the team should be just on the move for the right offer.
I guess Dekker, Harrell are keepers.

So nobody wanted to see D-Mo leave. I remember seeing Jimmy Jackson get traded in 2004 and having similar feelings. When D-Mo was on the court he was effective. He hasn't been on the court this year though.

Plus he's a restricted free agent with a post game and a decent size cap hold. Had the Rockets kept him and made him a qualifying offer he still would have signed an offer sheet with somebody else. Chandler Parsons got $15 million a season. I could see D-Mo getting offered $36 million for four years. The Rockets wouldn't have matched, and he'd be gone for nothing. Morey is going to experience a similar problem with Terrence Jones. I'm guessing he wasn't moved because Les wouldn't accept a full on tank job.

RIght now that pick is looking like it will be late lottery. Neither of the players the Rockets sent to Detroit are likely going to do much to change where the Pistons eventually finish. The Rockets could end up wit two lottery picks or two mid first rounders. They're probably not going to draft a future star, but they could wind up with somebody useful.

Basically the season is over. If they let Lawson walk, convince Dwight to sign for a sane amount, and exercise their option on Capela they'll have plenty of caproom.

i'm okay
i know what Morey is thinking
DMo is probably the only one he's willing to give up and still can get a potential lottery pick in return

Really like Thornton and D-Mo. Thornton was a very nice surprise this year but gets the short end of the stick obviously. D-Mo was our second best offensive option last season and now he's like yesterday's leftovers apparently.

Very little incentive to be a Rockets fan anymore.
