I don't see it. Boxing doesn't have brand recognition like the UFC does. Conor could theoretically force the UFC to co-promote, but they likely would call his bluff. And if he did go out on his own and put his own PPVs together, he'd be one loss from being out of the UFC and unable to anchor a PPV with no other name fighters. That's the other thing about boxing, the better guy almost always wins and a lot of those big fights are lopsided. MMA isn't like that and MMA fans have plenty of other options besides a one fight PPV based around Conor fighting someone outside the top 20.

The UFC and Conor need each other, and both seem to know it.

I wasn't calling him a cokehead. I'm somewhat fidgety as well but I've never seen anyone this fidgety:

He's got a can of energy drink in front of him blacked out, god knows how many he's had. He's a hype man, energy sells, and he knows it. he's probably cranked on Monster, and has a bit of stage anxiety. Even the best actors and singers get it before they go on stage. He's no different. He's just jacked and ready to perform.

You could be right although I've never seen anyone actually drink those disgusting energy drinks. I didn't watch the full presser so maybe he did.

He was drinkin on that during the presser.

I always could tell that Jones was a phony just based on how he presented himself as a perfect person. Jones has more physical gifts and ability than anybody else so his extreme confidence has come from that and he never really had to check himself ever. Even now, he's still the same jackass he's always been and it's only a manner of time before he falls again.

Conor on the other hand has had his success come from the technique and the ability to win the mental game. He knows saying "I'M A GOD" and that he's "Cool with Jesus" will move the needles and he's probably getting into RDA's head with that as well.

Contrast McGregor's post fight celebration against Mendes vs Jones against Machida. Conor was 100% authentic and crying, Jones had to have Greg Jackson tell him to go win some fans.

Conor just seems to be too driven to a coke head at this point.

How would Conor go against a Robbie Lawler?

Holy crap, I just watched the interview where he called out Robbie...Conor is huge and ripped. He looks like a different person up at 150.

Conor is much bigger, he would bully Lawler with ease.

I can't comprehend how that dude cuts to 145. Seriously.

It's insane. He's massive and toned. I'm starting to believe in the 170 title run now

I don't think he'd want to face Condit though, Condit at 6'2 with a bigger reach and being a technical striker is a lot more of a challenge than I think Lawler, who is a pure slugger would be for him, plus they are similar in size at 5'9 with a 72 inch reach

I think he'd have a chance against Lawler - Lawler would strike with him and someone would go down (could easily be Conor, though he hasn't been hit by anyone like Lawler). Maia would turn Conor into a pretzel though, and the elite wrestlers at WW should be able to handle Conor if they play it smart.

If Conor did end up going to 170, my lord... what a stacked division. It would be incredible to see any combination of Wonderboy, Condit, Conor, Lawler fight.

And with the talk of GSP being open to a Conor scrap at 155...if Conor can make 170, I think GSP would come back for what would probably be the biggest super fight in UFC history.

Thought this was interesting.

Probably just some anti-MMA writer now using Conor to get clicks, but I wonder how big that sentiment really is in Ireland.

Interesting read, and something I didn't really think about.
However, Ireland is a place where millions of people claim they represent or are from without every going (i'm Irish etc). You see it a lot on the Eastcoast, in Boston etc. So they are very protective of their culture and probably really dislike the American/UK contrived imagery of drunk, angry leprechauns fighting for the hell of it.

I think the majority of Ireland love him, but I definitely can see some of the purists disliking his antics and how it reflects on them as a country and a people.

Nate tweeting he's getting paid. Reports of Nate/Cnor II for UFC 202.

Hope they make Conor vacate the FW belt.

So weird.

Why/for whom is this produced? Audio of the man interviewed while he shadowboxes naked...is it supposed to be sexy for ladies & gay gents? It looks ridiculous.
