http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/240896/Clippers-Trade-Lance-Stephenson-1st-Rounder-To-Grizzlies-For-Jeff-Green

Today, old rivals become trade partners. After a year long torture, the Grizzlies have trade punching bag PF/SF Jeff Green to the Clippers. In return, the Grizzlies got back SG/SF troublemaker Lance Stephenson and a 2019 future first round pick.

At this rate, the Grizzlies will likely stay the course to make the playoffs in order to not lose the draft pick to the Nuggets this year.

Also, these trades appear to be a prelude to more big changes in the offseason for the Grizzlies. This season could likely be the last time we see this group together as their window to win the big one has all but come to a close.

i like these moves .. don't see any harm and well we've been needing to makes moves like these for awhile . clean house a bit while adding picks instead of trading picks for the likes of Jeff Greens of the world . who knows with a little luck and a nice waiver wire pickup we may not be down for the count just yet.

I have been watching every Grizzlies game this year - however you can tell my fanaticism has significantly waned in the past year. These moves - coupled with Gasol's potentially career-ending injury - have left me completely beside myself. They failed to put a title contending product on the floor this year. now they are throwing away their best young talent for nothing in return but arbitrary draft picks. I will wait for the next chapter in Memphis Grizzlies basketball. because this one is DONE. I look forward to something big down the road. ENJOY THE REBUILDING FOLKS

That being said, who do you have in mind that the Grizzlies could pick up from waivers?

That said van, I put the blame on the front office for not being on the same page as far as direction is concern. We knew this day would come where the Grizzlies will have no choice but to face the rebuilding process. No one is standing in the Warriors way in route to the championship. This is the perfect time to rebuild the foundations from top to bottom. Rome wasn't build in a day and neither will this team when they undergo construction. It will be ugly as hell, but it's a road the Grizzlies will have to travel down regardless. I wish them the best of luck.

Not a bad trade for the Griz. Getting a #1 even if it's a late one for Green who might have left in the summer. Also Lance is not a bad guy, he's just a goofy kid who loves to play basketball. He lost his mojo after leaving the Pacers. I think Dr Evil go to him and took his mojo!

Well, Lance got two months to find his mojo. If he proves he's got something left, the Grizzlies will keep him. If he screws up, he can hit the road out of the Bluff City.

I really hope he works out for you, I was really hoping he would work out for us. His numbers for us (in very limited time) were actually pretty good.I'd like to think that he he finds the right fit, he can be a productive player and make the most of his mercurial talent.

Oh yeah I would not blame them if they released him right now. He's not worth $9 million the way he's been playing. He does want to play and he's enthusiastic about it.

About Lance... Clippers fans have liked what they've seen. Most Hornets fans hate Lance after the stinker he had here, but I hope he completely blows up for you guys- I want nothing more than to see Lance be that #2 or #3 option and help a team to the playoffs, like he was supposed to for us. We saw the absolute worst of Lance, and while his body language was not great during these stretches, he never once created any kind of trouble. His play on the court was toxic, but there was nothing that led us to believe that he was a problem in the locker room. Nothing at all. I've always thought that this was wildly overblown, and the only thing I was ever concerned about with Lance was his play on the court.

His jumper completely evaporated last season, and as a result he was passing up open looks and over-dribbling in order to stay effective. Plus he had ongoing groin/hamstring injuries and he was having a hard time defending. After the initial struggles, Lance took some time to heal up, but once he was back, Clifford never gave him ample opportunities to prove himself, which only made matters worse.

Lance is shooting 49/40/70 for the Clippers in limited minutes... I think if you guys give him the opportunities, you can really benefit, but at the same time, if he doesn't respond positively to the upgrade in minutes, he may drag you down. I have no idea what to expect, but I'm hopeful.

AV has too much history of injuries. I might take a shot at Hickson just to see what he has to offer.
